Democrats?

Closer to far-left than they are to centre, at least, that's the public perception, which is the only thing that matters at election time.
I beg you to research their policy platform, align it with a political compass (nice and easy), and then come back and say the Democrats are closer to far-left than they are to centre with a straight face. Ludicrous proposition

According to NBC just now:
  • Pennsylvania - too close to call
  • Michigan - too close to call
  • Wisconsin - too close to call
  • Georgia - too close to call
  • North Carolina - too early to call
  • Arizona - too early to call
  • Nevada - too early to call
Let's be real these are the only states that matter and they are the states that will decide the election.

A red mirage always happens, people should know by now this is common.

What does Kamala Harris do now?
continue to be VP until next year, will she contest the election in 2028?
surely Democrats try someone else.

Biden and Harris would be still President and Vice-President until the inauguration of the new President in January 2025. The Democrats would have a proper primary contest for 2028. Harris would almost certainly put up her hand again if she loses today, but she wouldn't likely have the support.

Also needs to realise that the Republicans repeatedly calling them socialist, and some of the public falling for it, doesn't make it true.

I've followed the campaigning fairly closely. Harris has played the polical game a bit like will ferrels character in "the election," every stop has been pandering to whoever she is infront of, and her message has changed with it

May not agree with trump on everything, but he's certainly kept the message on brand the entire campaign

Trumps brand is to say anything that pops into his head. But she’s flawed becaus she likes to promote ‘reason’?

Georgia I'd call. Harris needs 75% of remaining votes unless their anticipating another couple hundred thousand voted this time compared to last.
2 biggest Georgia counties are at 83% counted. Don't think she will get back to win it, but it will be close

If trump does win, boy is he going to let elon run riot in the government services.

The Musk rat only cares about pumping his companies and a Democrat win would be a disaster for him.

You should've highlighted this part instead of the first part:

"at least, that's the public perception"

Their policies are irrelevant to voters, because most people never bother to read them and just follow news sources that confirm their bias.

I'm glad we don't have this same constant focus on how Chinese Australians/Indian Australians/Greek Australians etc. vote
You're kidding yourself if you think that Dutton & co aren't going to adopt a similar strategy based upon how this has played out.

It won't work for them but it could get really messy in the meantime.

Mate, your hot takes aren't great.

Harris ran a very good campaign. No, not perfect. But good. She is expected to be flawless though. Never slip up, never say the wrong word, never look the wrong way or do the wrong thing.

Meanwhile Trump ran a campaign full of lies and hatred. He said everything wrong. He slipped up constantly, forgetting where he was, who he was running against, and even pretended to give head to a microphone.

Take just a moment to step back from your 'lel teh left suck' perspective and think about your expectations here.

If you're left leaning on most important issues, but supporting Trump, shouldn't that tell you the trick the parties like the Republicans are running on you is working?

You're actively willing to vote against the most important issues to you, in order to 'own the libs' on some fringe issue?

You're smarter than this burge.
Literally nowhere in my post did I support Trump or advocate a vote for him

All you have done, is exactly like I said you would. You too are smarter than to make the exact mistakes I pointed out in my post. No reflection on why it may have failed, just blame everyone else. Where did we see that this year

If she can't beat Trump, that says A LOT about her. As a poster above said, she pandered to whoever was in front of her

It's not over anyway, at least my wallet hopes not at $10 odds

You mustn't be paying any attention to any forms of social media outside your own bubble if you're unaware of the mainstream perception of the Democrats.

The problem with perception is the Republicans can lie out of their arse and people will believe it. What exactly do you propose the Dems do to counter it? It is very obvious and easy to fact check, the problem is you have morons who refuse to do so.

Yes, but it's different than 2020. Less mail in votes. Improved counting procedures.

I'm prepared to predict a Trump win.
