For the US to get a female President, she'd have to be a Republican. Good luck getting a female nominee happening anytime soon there.
I don't think there has ever been a woman the repubs would put up, not in their history anyway.

Although as we have seen with the Dems now, it seems the electoral college will never allow a Democrat woman to be President.

Nah. Trump would've had Reagan level numbers against Biden. Switching was the right thing to do. The cupboard is just bare, candidates and policies.
I doubt policies matter much anymore and I also doubt any dem candidate would have stood a chance looking at these numbers in the swing states.

That 'reliable' poll from Iowa that showed Harris up turned out to be an absolute red herring.
Republicans are never losing Rural states. If the candidate was in a coma or murdered someone they would still vote for them. If anything he got an increased majority this time around.

lets not cast stones, the voice vote got smashed here..
I'm leaning more and more towards that being a failure of message. The answer to 'If you don't know vote NO!' is clear and concise explanation and education to the voting public in the long lead-up.

I don't feel that happened as well as it should have.

Cupboard wasnt bare.

Just the way the democrats are now they couldnt be seen to pass over a women of colour in the vp spot.

Ironically the best bet was probably michelle obama because unlike harris, she has charisma in spades. But for whatever reason she chose not to run despite attending endless rallies.

2 data points is not enough evidence. Especially when neither had charisma nor were strongly supported by their base.

Nominate one that isn’t lazy, slow-witted and possessing a laugh like a screeching harpy and she’ll have half a chance. If Dems are mad at anything, they should be mad that the party keeps nominating the most unlikeable women possible to run against a guy facing such incredible headwinds that he was beaten by a potted plant.

I feel seeing how stressed Barack was for 8 years first had is probably not the best way to get her to run for President.
