Premiership winner from 2019 found guilty of deliberately playing player/s under dummy names in games by VAFA. The penalty is? No announcement as per the past. Will there be transparency from HQ or attempt to keep in house [save the shame]? Decision will be a precedent so hope they have penalised accordingly. Know of several "male" clubs who had officials announced and banned for 2/3/4 years and teams demoted in the past. Interested in what long time B F Posters think. This is fact.

If you are talking ones..then the only sensible decision here would be to award the flag to the Xavs. 2nd Semi was super tight. Straight into the GF with a week off and..bang..Claret & Stout.
Can’t imagine this will happen as HO has been a little anti Xav in recent times..

Does it really matter if they filled in during the year under false names? Bush teams have done this for years.and it's not like the pool to pick players from is that large?

Yeah - sounds like a fantastic attitude to take towards a football competition.

Maybe you're a social player yourself, but the VAFA and other suburban comps tend to take themselves a little more seriously than that.

Happens all the time... not saying it’s right but especially in numbered divisions

Spot on. Crazy to think it doesn't happen in all comps. Hedge funds is dreaming

Quick look at Women's Teams that were Premiers comes up with Preston Bullants [apols if not correct]! Finished well in the final 4 so would have to be maybe 4/5 games for loss of points to not make finals. Don't know details or penalties or if correct. If this was a one game occurrence then small financial penalty and warning is appropriate. If it was a deliberate situation over months orchestrated by club coaches, team managers, officials [who else is in charge of team sheets] it is really serious. Then the loss of 4 points per game would mean that they would not have made finals. Interesting that VAFA would not have announced a decision "if" this is correct. Might be the Melbourne Storm all over - Asterisk the year as no premier?
Whines to crap/10571asleep certainly don't exude an integrity based model for their clubs. Rort the rules and pay the penalty is a core value of what the VAFA stands for.

Perhaps VAFA don't want to broadcast the result [if true] because of the damage in the eyes of other competitions. Think Hedgy and myself would be saying get transparent and show leadership and announce results as they did with clubs way back [Hawthorn, Elsternwick, Prahran - strippergate etc]. Will the fact that it is the women's comp cloud the waters?

Cheating is cheating, and should be stamped out immediately and everyone needs to pay the price.

I take umberence regarding the Women's Comp. The sooner everyone just sees it as just another division of football within the VAFA, the better.

They suspend players with the same penalties, they play for 4 points, the same as the rest of the comp. So cheating should been seen the same as any other division.

Great effort yesterday from superstar trainer Danny O’Brien who is a former Monash Blue. Got me thinking what other ammo players have excelled at another sport? I came up with James Tompkins as one. Others?

Just from recent years Seb Gotch was an U19 premiership player at De La and played good senior footy in 2013 before being offered a cricket Australia contact. Michael Beer played footy at De La (without distinction!) and two of the Agar boys who played 19s and 2s/3s at De La have played first class cricket in recent years (Not Ash who played test cricket).

Pretty sure Merryck Buchanan from Uni Blues played first class cricket for Victoria.

If I wasn’t fried from the long weekend I could think of a few more.
