Well you're free to say this, but the data doesn't support your argument as we fielding the second youngest and second least experienced team on the weekend behind the hawks.I don’t vent much, but I’m getting a bit sick of the “we’re still a young side” excuses. How long are we going to keep hiding behind that crap?
The team have shown they can mix it with the best, so it’s all there, but somehow it’s gone the next.
1000% between their ears now.
Youth/inexperience impacts execution of a gameplan. Our problem isn't the execution, it's the nonsensical conservative and uninspiring ball movement that was successful years ago but has since been made redundant. I cannot fathom how posters see Ryan bombing it to a pack (which he is instructed to do) and blame the 'youth' of our team. There is no excuse to get smashed by Carlton on our home deck.Well you're free to say this, but the data doesn't support your argument as we fielding the second youngest and second least experienced team on the weekend behind the hawks.

It is not an excuse, it is the reality of the situation we find ourselves in after we offloaded 6 experienced players last offseason. We've taken a step back to hopefully take a step forward next season when we're fielding a side much closer to the average.
I know this is the vent thread, but whatever .
Add in David Mundy and take out Johnson and have a look at what that does to our averages.Well you're free to say this, but the data doesn't support your argument as we fielding the second youngest and second least experienced team on the weekend behind the hawks.

Add in David Mundy (from a few years back) and see what it does to our win/loss ratioAdd in David Mundy and take out Johnson and have a look at what that does to our averages.
I think the point generally being made is that after rebuilding for 6 years we're still one of the youngest most inexperienced teams in the comp. Having traded out a starting forward and defender for a packet of chips while paying a huge amount for a complete non need whose played a couple of good games. We hide behind 'we're young' or 'we're rebuilding ' or 'we have a new coach' and have done so since day one.
Not hard. During a rebuild don't trade out picks. This is our future list manager right here folks.
Well you mentioned Clark i mean really. Not hard. During a rebuild don't trade out picks.
Most of the bad calls in the clubs history involve us bringing in players.
Injuries have not been an issue this year.I don't think our list is too bad, we just have too many players who are either injured, or in the worst form of their careers. Freddy, Walker and Switta couldn't possibly play any worse than they have the last month. There's others not much better. No team can carry 5 or 6 players each weekend.

I could have mentioned 5 more players. I don't pick and choose. You don't need trade away picks during a rebuild.Well you mentioned Clark i mean really.
It doesn’t matter who we have , why do people continue to sprout this line?I joke about our legal representatives being Lionel Hutz or Dennis Denuto, but I honestly can’t remember the last time we were successful at the tribunal. Do we have the worst lawyers in the AFL?
We do and I'm not joking either. Most teams get a win every now and then but we don't. Not getting O'Meara off especially was disgraceful.I joke about our legal representatives being Lionel Hutz or Dennis Denuto, but I honestly can’t remember the last time we were successful at the tribunal. Do we have the worst lawyers in the AFL?
"Excuse" is just a lable. It's either a factor or it isn't. If you don't think age is a factor what's your case for that?I don’t vent much, but I’m getting a bit sick of the “we’re still a young side” excuses. How long are we going to keep hiding behind that crap?

It really does get f*n tiring doesn’t it ?Im pretty close to being done with the AFL over this piss poor comp banning some players but not others....
I'm so close to just giving up this year and walking away.
He was never getting off that charge. But if that was Nick Daicos.... nothing. It's completely ruining the game for me.It really does get f*n tiring doesn’t it ?
So how’s this one not the same or worseHe was never getting off that charge. But if that was Nick Daicos.... nothing. It's completely ruining the game for me.
Same.So how’s this one not the same or worse

My case is that when we are switched on we can mix it with the best. So why can’t we back that up the following week? If we had one hell of a physical game the week prior, fair enough, but players literally play out of their skins one week and go walkabout the next. I don’t question that our general age would come into that, but everyone keeps harping on about it, which just gives it legs and player’s, coaches something to hide behind. At what data point are we no longer a young team? I think Collingwood are a great example of a team that have it right between the ears, maybe with time and maturity we will to."Excuse" is just a lable. It's either a factor or it isn't. If you don't think age is a factor what's your case for that?
Lol he was 20 years old and worth every bit of pick 22 ffs.I could have mentioned 5 more players. I don't pick and choose. You don't need trade away picks during a rebuild.
In the long run it hurts you.
Same.
