Interesting selection problem for the seniors next week if Schroder can get in the best again

Not really. Plenty of time for him. If Simpkin is to play must go flat stick now to make his claims. Motlop too must see all the others getting games , he must press now or he will risk a West like situation. There is plenty of talent on the conveyor , he best not wait too long.

Speaking of West , where is he? Doesn't look good for Drum does it , shame.

Mclean must be doing the job if named ahead of Gillies and Walker at CHB.

Browns the one. The coach says he WILL debut in coming weeks. Important now to be resilient and keep doing as instructed.

I wonder if Mooney will actually play in the Magoo's this week.
And when was the last time he played at the VFL level ?
If doesn't play again in the seniors I hope he can follow in the footsteps of Mensch and McGrath and play out his career in the twos giving invaluable experience and knowledge to the kids on whats needed to make in the seniors.

Re: VFL Round 11 - Werribee v Geelong, Werribee, 2:00PM Sunday 12 June

True. I hear he has fitness issues but I wouldn't be fussed by that like you said plenty of time

PS does anyone know how much he weighs now? His stats at years start said mid 80s bit I assume he lost a bit of that "puppy fat"

Nope not really, we'll rest a few blokes for the Adelaide game so he might get a game then but other than that it's largely next year for him, as with a lot of our kids.

Wouldn't stress on Drum, remember it's only 4 weeks since he did the quad/hammy in his comeback game, I'd suggest to you both he and the fitness staff know how crucial it is not to botch this comeback attempt (as it may well be his last if it fails) so they are simply being cautious, he'll be back in a couple of weeks.

Based on RR's report West seemed to have been struggling with some sort of chest/rib inj. Hope he can get fit and show good form because Scott was certainly keen to put him in the 1's early in the year when he's in good form.

In my head I've pencilled in the Adel game in a couple of weeks as a Brown debut so long as he keeps doing all the right things. Interestingly the paper says he was very good last week he just kicked 0.5.

Be interesting to see if Mooney plays this week and if so how well he can cover the ground, obviously the next few weeks are make or break for him.

Hopefully Shagga can increase his gametime and find some form, he should be in the seniors in the next few weeks if all goes to plan.

Big time for Simpkin, with a tough draw and then adel, and some interstate trips coming up, combined with our general rotation philosophy, I can see a debut for him. With us now as of this week having two rookie eleavtions open (one for Smedts and the other the free hit that all clubs get on one elevated rookie after round 11) I can see him being elevated as it now doesn't preclude any other rookie being elevated later also if need arises. He's been good the last couple of weeks so another really good game or two and he's in I reckon.

McLean is a very good player. Gosh I wish he was 23.

When the f*** are the twos going to be on telly, annoying.
Thanks to the guys who do the reports, you are generally proved to be on the money when we see them in the ones.

I d say West def has a rib injury of some sort. He missed at least 2 qtrs last Saturday with a big ice bak on his Ribs.

Re: VFL Round 11 - Werribee v Geelong, Werribee, 2:00PM Sunday 12 June

Drum situation is concerning....he simply hasn't played any football for a long period of time. With contract up at the end of the year he must get on the field to proove he is worth hanging onto. Would be a shame to have not seen him at least get the chance to represent the 1's as he did come very highly rated.

West is another in that category. Scott was talking him up and rightly so - i have been a fan for awhile. However, no game time and slipping well behind Vardy now so it is going to be a now or never approach for the remainder of season.

Hopefully the Hawk can step up this week.

Re: VFL Round 11 - Werribee v Geelong, Werribee, 2:00PM Sunday 12 June

Drum certainly needs to get on the field, hopefully when he comes back in the next couple of weeks he can play the last two months of the season without any more injuries. If he can he's got the talent to earn another contract, but it's make or break.

West is a real chance to play some games and the sub rule helps him so it's annoying he's injured at the moment.

Mclean named ahead of Gillies, must be doing alright, but what about Bathie named atFullback ahead of Gillies also.

Not bad for an ex-basketballer, must be doing something right!
Stands 198cm as well!

Bathie is progressing well, although his twitter conversation with the Tomahawk this week makes me wonder if he'll be in good shape for the game on Sunday! :D

Re: VFL Round 11 - Werribee v Geelong, Werribee, 2:00PM Sunday 12 June

Please let us have a second win for the season - our team on paper when few injuries/resting takes place shoul be good enough to win a few games - surely ?

Guys in the twos need that winning feeling also.

Re: VFL Round 11 - Werribee v Geelong, Werribee, 2:00PM Sunday 12 June

At least they beat the Hawks (even if it was by the slimmest of margins). Can anyone report on how Horlin Smith is going?

Agreed, love this idea. Mind you if his knee's really no good i doubt it'll hold up even for VFL.

Been out all year with a shoulder injury from a practice match.

Has returned the last couple of weeks and is slowly finding his feet, good talent but will take a while I reckon.
