I doubt there would be any changes this week.

I once again didn't think Mackie played great footy. Well actually I just think there is better players in the VFL than him ATM. Mack is such a borderline player. I feel sorry for those guys coz they find it hard to get picked and stay in the team.

PS: very funny TheTimeCometh. Your just a clown aren't you.

Well Jess, you just shot yourself in the foot. If he wants to become a regular player, he needs time in the team to develop.

OWCH! That Hurt ( I mean my foot)!
Yeah your right in that Mack needs time to develop in the snr's. Hmmmm but if we want our best 22 out there would he be in it? I supose everyone think different things. I just wish he would get some muscles. lmao ;)

Went along with the old man and even older man, had a great time. Not only did the Cats flog them, the Lance from Lara-esque guy who sits near us was pretty quiet and we got to hear the verbal fireworks of the Box Hill coach.

The players who impressed me today were Callan, Byrnes, Blake, Spencer and Batchelor. It speaks volumes about that Callan that despite being dropped - and he must consider himself unlucky that he was - he went out and played a superb game. On top of his usual desperation, hardness, and willingness to attack he showed a level head in his disposal, which is the biggest concern with him at the moment. Byrnes was his usual self, the exception being that his disposal was a bit better - I really don't think we can do without him, his pace is simply too important. Being able to start only a few paces ahead of someone and yet have enough legspeed to pull away sufficiently to take a few bounces is something we have to hang on to. Geelong should keep Blake purely for comic relief - he had us howling a few times when, the usual quick handball option not being there, he played ruck rover or took a nonchalant bounce to clear it out of defence. He seems to have gained a lot of confidence and while a few of his kicks were horrendous his disposal, on the whole, has got a lot better. I thought Spencer played shockingly in the one's but he had the better of his opponent throughout the match - could shape up as a new CHB. Batchelor was just generally good - level-headed, prepared to be physical, shared it around. Based on today the future looks promising.

On the other hand, I'll scream if KK, Gardiner, Playfair or Ablett get a recall. Riccardi was his usual classy self and deserves a recall, but he was the only one who really showed enough. S. Johnson was good, bagged a few miracle goals, and Kelly showed flashes of real class but went missing for periods (probably in part because he spent some time up forward - he was at his best on ball). Given that there were no atrocious performances against Carlton, the only change I can see being made is Tenace or Prismall out for Riccardi.

Well i think Kelly did some good things today, but i guess there is noone that played bad yesterday, wait until after the Port match, we'll see who is a stayer..

PS: I'm still expecting the detailed report... even if you failed English. hahaha ;)

I think thejester summed it up nicely :D

Experience really shows in the VFL, you could tell Riccardi was just that extra bit level headed, a really accurate kick and powerful when he wants to be, Byrnes is a calm and collected players as well, and can finish really well in front of goal, mostly when he is on the run.

That vfl site said Ablett was one of our best, but i wouldn't have rated him in the top 8 or so players.

Care to elaborate?

not that interesting, just him saying Bomber was saying he had a good second half.....how he went out in Melbourne, Lonergan was a bit down because he saw how noone did bad in the seniors so he couldn't get in next week.

Btw- Slade's girlfriend is Hot! -He and his girlfriend were a few rows a head of us.

WHAT?!?!?! Didn't Will play???????????????????????????????????????? :(
*cries* and *cries again when reads that his g/f is hot*

Oh and Lonergan will struggle to get a game for the rest of the season. I think he is a goner and he probably realises that too. I think even Gardiner is ahead of him but thats just my oppinion.

Ok. Lonergan wouldn't get a game anyway. You'd expect Slade to have a good looking girlfriend, but that means he didn't play, I guess.

oops, sorry, you've already made the observation that Slade didn't play.

Gardiner, Lonergan..... juggle them to see which is worse.

I might be unpopular with this - but I wouldn't drop either Tenace or Prismall for Riccardi. They are the future, and need as much time in the seniors as possible. Plus I thought both played serviceable games.

Riccardi for me will find it pretty tough to get back in. We've gotta get games into the young guys.

slik ricc deserves to hit 300games hes a champion and it would be tragic if he didnt. we can drop mackie..that will teach him to be a skinny little **** (god seriously how hard is it to put some weight on....what is it with him, go to the gym, eat protien---we all know hes got skills, if only he had the body to be a comanding player)
so is lonergan, spencer, and playfair worthless i.e. cant be converted into future CHB or anything that might be useful?
how is grimma playing? is he a future player that will get on our list or is it to early to tell?

I'd agree with the sentiment for any other player, but Riccardi just gives something else to the team - his calmness around the ball will be desperately needed against Port.

Prismall should stay in for sure, he has more class already than some of our 'experienced' mids. I would expect him to play all 22 next year, and hopefully a majority of the remainder this year.

I forgot to say this yesterday, but Lonergans girlfriend was also behind us talking to Mackie and she was saying he wants to go to S.A.......

Btw- Gardiner didn't do much, i think he kicked a goal.....but didn't do much at all.

Does Gardiner want to go with him? Should we buy them a present?
