I did watch it and certainly took note of the last 5 minutes when the frees were like 7-1 Collingwood's way :)
Yes they were. The come from behind team seems to always get them at the moment. Not sure if it's umpire's getting sucked into the run on, or whether the team in the lead is panicking. We've copped that sort of run late whist defending a lead a few times this year.

Fair point regarding finals rankings, but the advantage remains.

You can’t tell me that playing the Eagles at Optus would’ve been preferable to the MCG in 2018.

It’s not going to change, but to deny reality is bizarre.

But to pretend home finals were ‘deserved’ when clearly not.

Bulldogs play similar number of MCG games to sydney

If Bulldogs have to play a ‘home’ final against Hawthorn at the MCG this is as bad as 20 years ago when Brisbane had to play a home prelim final at the MCG against Geelong. At least for Geelong it wasn’t their home ground.
Geelong gets 6 games a year at the MCG, the Bulldogs 2, both as away team, away team is ok, but 2 when we have to play our home finals there is beyond a joke and fairness.

2016

Maynard being free to play last year is one of the biggest biased decisions I can recall. Houston tonight will be suspended and miss the next 4+ and if we make a GF won’t get the same chance as a guy from a VIC club - basically the AFL started redemption for not suspending Maynard with SPP at the beginning of the season too, everyone else pays.

Happened to Hawthorn too in 2007. Had to play a final at Docklands but did not have any home games there that year

I wouldn't mind playing at Marvel. Hawthorns record there in 2024 is 3-0 including against the Dogs. MCG its only 5-4

Yeah, playing a home final down the road from where you normally play doesn't exactly compare to having to play a "home" final on the other side of the ****ing country.
No, but Dogs and Cats playing home finals at the G doesn't compare to WCE playing home finals at Optus Studium either - which is the current formula.

Although that wasn’t against a tenant of Marvel, so a bit different from playing your ‘home’ game against a team who’s actual home it is.

Bias will remain for as long as a national competition has half it's teams in one state, and its headquarters and most of its on- and off- field decision makers based in that same state.
The smallest club, North, in the comp has 50k members, so it ain't gonna change.

So you can except it or vote with your feet and remotes.

Ah yes the 50000 north members.
It's like that Simpsons episode when Sideshow Bob runs for mayor and the dead rise up from the cemetery and vote Republican. Now the dead have risen and taken up North membership

So you don't believe me, here's proof.

Not about that.

The argument that the grand final is at the G due to being the biggest stadium and that others should just build a bigger one if they want it, is such a straw man argument.

It’s contracted there until 2059 in a ridiculously biased contract.

No state is going to build a 100k+ stadium now and then not be able to host the gf for another 35 years.

It’s astonishing that such a contract can even be agreed to.

Yes, Barry Hall was allowed to play in the 2005 Grand Final against West Coast.

And if you listened to the Victorian Media during the 2005/06 Finals, Barry Hall was playing for South Melbourne, and it was Bloods culture that they drew on to get to the big dance two years in a row.

When Hardwick coached Richmond he had the worst free kick differential in the AFL. Now he's coaching a non-Vic club, guess what? It's the best.
Was always going to be the best. We all know the interstate clubs get favoured a lot better then most Victorian clubs ;)

Got evidence of this?

Got evidence of this?
None of these VICBias cookers do. They don't need evidence, just like any other antivaccer, flat earther or sov cit crazy. In their mind, they're special people pushing back the dark.
More to be pointed and laughed at than pitied.

Freo played 5 games at Marvel in 2022, compared to Richmond just 3.

Fremantle had the ground familiarity advantage.

It is obviously a win to Freo to not have to play Richmond at their actual home ground, the MCG.

AFL House policy decided Richmond doesn't get all their home games at the G.
really?

Freo beat Richmond twice in 2024. one game was in Perth, the other was in the MCG. Now I really hope there is 2 non vic sides in the 2024 AFL grand final just for your crazy posts.
