They played against another Victorian team that day didn't they, or at the very least a non-Queensland based team.
They made the grand final without playing too many MCG games, incredible for a team so putrid away from it!!!

You may have a point for some teams, but Brisbanes team today shows they clearly don’t have any trouble attracting players from other clubs!

Look at the Swans. I like to think we have been a fairly successful team in the last decade but from 2014 to 2022 we attracted no players who were best 22 at their former club. Zero, none, and the Swans tried to trade for best 22 players in that time to fill in holes, but we couldn't convince any to come.
Not attracting a single best 22 player from another club in 9 years is a problem.
They won multiple finals away from the G including a flag!Once in a generation tigers team that was utter dogshit away from the mcg.
*makes jerking off motion and rolls eyes.
I thought the magical cutoff was 2007?Look at the Swans. Now it's 2014?
But you got Buddy, Tippet and Mumford during that period since 2007.Two different things, try to keep up.
I am just talking about the Swans difficulty in attracting best 22 players from other clubs and wonder if it is just an us thing or more universal amongst the non-Victorian clubs.
I wonder how many for instance non-Western Australians Fremantle has been able to trade for in the last decade.
Apparently the AFL made significant money at the Perth GF with less than a months notice. The unfortunate reality for the “national” competition is that clearly it is not.
It is a “corporate” competition. The AFL loves the GF at the MCG because it makes the most money.
I am completely on the bandwagon that the GF should be played at the home ground of the highest seeded team. I also think * the corporate tickets, every member should have access to a ticket.
But until the day that the AFL believes they will make as much money playing a GF elsewhere, it won’t happen.
But you got Buddy, Tippet and Mumford during that period since 2007.
Probably more to do with you picking arbitrary time periods to suit your Vicbias agenda.I am just talking about the last 9 years or so and purely from a Swans perspective. It used to be easy for Sydney to get players from other clubs, but the mid 2010's it got a lot harder. I wonder if it has anything to do with players more unwilling to move away from home these days and also the changes in free angency rules, but this is all speculation.

Wtf it's just a game of footy. Some teams come good then others do. You are cherry picking time frames to suit your salty ill informed Vicco opinions. One minute it's 2007 then for trading all of a sudden it's 2014. It's getting embarrassing, like when you tried to claim in 2016 the AFL admitted umpires cost you 4 goals when in fact that was just a salty journalist claiming that.Hardly.
If you were studying why the murder rate in a city was going up you would start studying it at around the period the murder rate started going up. In AFL terms the murder rate started going up in 2007 so it is useless to begin studying the murder rate when it was steady 5 years prior.
Why should the 2nd placed side get a home ground advantage against first place who won both finals?Todays game gets played at Brisbane they win.
Have we really found out the best team for 2023?
Another home game for one team is a clear advantage.
Is Kranky talking shit again? They won multiple finals away from the G including a flag!
So one team gets to warm up and take shots in the swirling breeze for longer than the other?i always hate when the season is over and I say late at night quite bored and decided to rewatch the 2013 grand final on a YouTube footy flashbacks.
If you think back to that game we started horribly with our goal kicking. We were matching hawthorn in nearly every facet. However, Fyfe kicking two out on the full, Barlow falls 30 cms short, Suban falls 30 cms short we go into halftime kicking 1 goal. It has always haunted many dockers supporters.
Well you look back to that season and we played the G three times that year one being the GF and you think yep no wonder you are a little bit out of sorts (obviously there is some nerves that would factor in as well).
But listening to the footy flashback one comment that was made is that because of the pre game entertainment they couldn’t take many warm up shots and thus it took them a little bit to work out the swirling breeze…
This just simply should not happen
BahahahaHardly.

Mitchell Tom. Sorry. Wrong year. But you got Buddy, Tippet and Mumford during that period since 2007.
Kranky aint a normal fan thoughBrisbane travel more so more chances to win more on the road. But Collingwood only lost 1 away game, won 3 times at Adelaide oval this year. I think any normal fan would admit Collingwood clearly were the best team in it this year
Yep, apparently even the Pie's fans Collingwoooood chant is VicBias now. Maybe the Lions fans could start a chant instead of singing their country road crap, wtf is that?Is Kranky talking s**t again?
Of course not. But when the mcg is your home ground you get far more opportunity to work out set shot range, wind patterns etcSo one team gets to warm up and take shots in the swirling breeze for longer than the other?
So where do you want it played?Todays game gets played at Brisbane they win.
