MVP VOTES Carlton v Richmond Round 15 2011

Is the Yarran voting thing just a feel good thing? He was pretty undisciplined as a player today from a team perspective.

Or is it purely because he is the only young guy who played most of the game today ;)

Very hard to split them on such a wonderful team performance.

5. Robbo (Set the scene from the opening bounce and his attitude is infectious)
4. Judd (Back to business as usual)
3. Murhpy
2. Hendo (stepped up when needed)
1. Waite (took a half to get into the swing but presented and marked everything that came his way and presented all over the park).

Was tempted to put Warnock in the votes but he really wasn't challenged and played as well as he ought to week in week out. Still needs to hit the scoreboard but his second efforts were much better this week, but not at an outstanding level, he lifted to expected level yesterday against pretty meek resistance.

(But the Kruze/Hammer or Knockers combo is going to be Lethal)

5. Robinson (The improvement in his game has been immense)
4. Judd (31 touches, 10 tackles and 2 goals. Enough said)
3. Waite (Looked a little sluggish early, but got into the game)
2. Murphy (Another typical Murphy game)
1. Henderson (Couldn't have done anymore on Riewoldt. Might have found his spot in the side)

Rookie - Yarran

5 Robinson - His first quarter set the tone and the pace, and crushed the Tiger spirit.
4 Judd - Superb game again, his 10 second goal in the third term (Bounce - Warnock - Judd - Murphy - Judd - GOAL!!) was worth waiting for.
3 Warnock - Won the ruck all day. ALL DAY. We still need all our talls.
2 Betts - 5 goals and on fire from minute one. Smiled all day, played like a champ all day.
1 Ellard - so many contenders for the points but Ellard was tireless and always in and under after the ball. Face red from high tackles, fought for the ball, the tackle and the team, absolutely tireless.

BYP Garlett - any other day would have been in the points too. (if ineligible Yarran)

Top game from:

Waite - where have you been for so long? That's the focal point we need at CHF to give the forward line shape and structure.
Garlett - just magical around the forward line, a delight to watch.
Walker - 4 goals and ran and ran and ran - chased down 3 of their players back to back to put pressure on, 40 metre sprint each time, in the last quarter.
Tuohy - good game, learning fast, will be a regular in the backline - pushing Carrazzo forward.
Thornton - starting to show the old Thornton again, solid, reliable, enjoying his football.
Carrazzo - great game, worked his tail off. Gave a poor pass forward third quarter and caused a turnover, then sprinted to the boundary to make the next contest and push the ball out.
Henderson - get the feeling he's gonna make his way into the forward line via the backline.

5. Judd
4. Robbo
3. Warnock
2. Murphy
1. Betts

BYP: Ellard

Unlucky: Waite, Scotland, Simpson, Gibbs, Walker, Garlett, Henderson, Laidler, Ellard, Yarran

Awarding votes to only 5 players is quite difficult this week.

5: Robinson - just edged out Judd due to him setting us up in the first half.
4. Judd - total class & his 2 goals were absolute rippers.
3. Waite - best game from Waite since returning from knee injury last season.
2. Warnock - dominant ruckman on the ground, gave our midfield an armchair ride.
1. Betts - hard to leave out a forward who kicks 5 goals.

Unlucky - Murphy.

BYP - Yarran - continues to use the ball well & kicked another nice goal.

I reckon you have to give the votes to the blokes who set up the win in the first 2.5 quarters. After that it was a cakewalk and everyone joined the party.

On that note:

5. Mitch - He set the tone for the entire team early and was just getting it everywhere.
4. Judd - Nice to see him back in dominant form.
3. Simpson - Just not enough love for this bloke on this board. He was also everywhere in the first half and linked up heaps of play with his run and endeavour.
2. Warnock - the reason why our midfield was so dominant.
1. Waite - Presented all day and would have had 20 marks but for some terrible delivery early. The forward line just looks so much better with him in it.

BYP: Yarran (apologies to Laidler who was a rock)

Unlucky:
Murphy, Kreuzer, Walker (gave too many frees away tho'), Henderson, Eddie, Carrots and Heath.
