What do you think of Hardisty watched him last week and he was very good for claremont.

I like him. He's as tough as nails, built a lot like Prestia only a little taller and he's got a super left foot boot. He's trimmed down a bit over the preseason and looks to have lost some of the puppy fat he had last year which will help his endurance. My two knocks on him are he isn't quite as clean on the inside as he should be for an inside midfielder and not really at quick over the ground on the outside. But there is still a lot to like about him.

We all know that Ashton Hams retired but seems playing most of the season for East Perth was not an option for him , South Fremantle the priority .

Anyway this alignment idea seems to be going okay , Swans getting close after losing so many players from last season shows maybe it wont be that one sided and Perth have recruited pretty well and could challenge this season !

went down to watch the boys train today in melbourne before tomorrow's game.
fair to say not much went on, just a few reflex drills and some run throughs.

i was concerned when hurn left the track first,
but everyone else seems to follow 10-15 mins later.

we seemed very relaxed,
sinclair, mitch brown and jk seemed more concern who could dunk the nearby basketball ring.
coach simmo was seeing how far he could throw the footy grid iron style
and wellingham seemed to spend every spare minute trying to ping sinclair with the footy.

in saying that we looked very sharp and everyone is in good nick/spirits

hoping that confidence rolls onto a big 4 quarter effort on sunday

Excellent. He was having a bit of a mare last week, but kept battling on.

"but kept battling on" is the important part. Every player has a stinker every now and then, but having him not drop his bundle entirely and keep pressing on shows a great attitude. Encouraging to see that, especially from a young player.

Where's the WAFL write ups yo?

Think EasternHills and Underdog were there.

Covered the ground well and read the tap work of Lycett and Johnson really well.

Probably burnt the ball a little too much going forward from stoppages and shanked one going inside 50. Apart from that his ball use was reasonably good.

Would like to see him get out in front of the play where he can use his kicking to full effect and be more creative by hand around stoppages. But I'm struggling to put to much of a negative spin on it given his league experience is limited. Good game from him.

AFL WATCH

Jacob Brennan - Solid but unremarkable with 16 disposals .
Sam Butler - A tireless worker for the Royals with 25 disposals .
Adam Carter - One of the best on ground , continually found space to set up attacks from the back line .
Josh Hill - Kicked a classy goal but quiet otherwise .
Scott Lycett - Dominant in the ruck but missed some opportunities when forward .
Pat McGinnity - The Royals best in the first half . Had six clearances among his 18 disposals .
Jeremy McGovern - Another solid effort at full back for the former forward .
Fraser McInnes - Kicked three goals in one of his better WAFL games for some time .
Will Schofield - Played a big part in the Royals win , acting as the back-line general .
Dom Sheed - Had 23 disposals , two goals and the equal-highest clearances on the ground .
Ash Smith - A solid game which coulod have been better had his teammates rewarded his hard running .
Blayne Wilson - Solid effort defensively , playing mainly on Tim Geappen .

Adam Carter or Will Schofield could be in-line for a call up to replace Shannon Hurn , Hurn is pretty hard to replace maybe they will go with Ash Smith just for the pace and give Ash another chance and let Carter develop further . Schofield would be the favoured replacement obviously ......Butler also :footy:
Sheed could easily come into the team but Scott Lycett may have to continue in the WAFL only because of lack of opportunity , WCE ruck stocks look okay at the moment !!

one of the most interesting things about having a new coach is how they see our players and their pecking order.
will be intriguing to see who simmo replaces hurn with.

going off the above wafl reviews would be great to see carter in there being a similar size to hurn,
id normally love schofield in the team regardless but we might be too tall.

also interested to see if sheed gets a game too

looking forward to see how it all pans out this week
