Looking at the WAFL site, looks like Maginness missed out on the league team again, surely another good performance in the ressies and they shouldn't be able to keep him out again, would be great to see him on ABC next week.

He's very good. Needs to work on his kicking and stay within his limits.

Sheed's third goal in 2 games, I wonder if he is spending time on a forward flank. If he's kicking those goals from the midfield that's a good sign of improvement.

Sheed was good as was Butler.
Johnson is such a good ruck he and Lycett where utterly dominate.
McInnes was very impressive better than big Josh Smith, though Josh kicked 4
Wulf and Blee where very good as well.
I wish Hutchings would kick the footy more than 20 metres, always goes for short option.
MCGovern looks like he has found a home in the backline.
All east perth players where good even brennan and he hardly touched it.

Big numbers by the Eagle's players tonight for the Royals - big win too. Be interested in a report or two. Sheed is pushing his name forward again which is good.

Little update before I do a bigger one later on

Sheed: was excellent absolute ball magnet and always seems to be in the right place. Clean crisp disposal esp by hand. And brilliant work forward probably could of had 4 goals if his team mates spotted him up. Spent a bit of time on the bench as well.

Hutchings: good outing I thought. Found plent of the pill and fierce on the attack with the ball. Disposal was a bit if and I thought he looked a bit rusty not ready for the first team just yet couple more weeks I reckon.

Lycett: stats don't do this guy justice he was brilliant. Seeing him first hand and watching his impact is pretty amazing. Clunked marks, dominated in the ruck, kicked goals and even sold some candy. My Motm

McGovern: showed his nieche down back. Had must of being atleast 7 marks. Intercepted well, kicking was low flat and hitting targets out future FB IMO. Mind you service to souths forwards was terrible.

Mcinnes: was pretty good I thought kicked 3 goals and showed good mongrel in forward 50. But his kicking is still a let down for me should of had atleast a bag of 5.

Hill: barely noticed him tbh kicked some nice goals but his production really has to lift if he wants his spot back.

Butler: was probably our best player. Was absolutely every were mopping up in defence, getting in and under in the midfield. Made good decisions time and time again very solid contributor.

Smith: quite good tonight I thought. Show cased his kicking and run and carry a few times best game for smithy so far and seems to be getting grips with his more advanced role.

Carter: started out like a house on fire in the first half before fading away. Spent most his time down back scratching his ass really.

That's all really off the top of my head wasn't impressed by either Brennan or maginity will be delisted at the years end IMO

Pretty much that. Simpson really likes to throw his players around a bit.

Butlers numbers are inflated by him getting a lot of the ball wide coming out of defense. But he played a lot in the midfield in the second half and was good.

Sheed and Lycett look like they're on another level. Lycett was brilliant after a slow start, and Johnson just imposing. All things considered Brock Higgins did extremely well against his old side.

Sheed could have had 20 touches in the first half. His high intensity running is really good. Just glides around the ground. Sheed missed his first goal from directly in front from a handball receive and then nailed his first goal kicked from 55m out 10m in from the boundary. Sheed and Hutchings have a little work to do as far as finding the ball off the half forward flank though, which is why there disposal count plateaued in the second half.

Smith, Carter were good, Wilson wasn't bad and Brennan had one of his best games in while. Thought McGovern had a worse game than he had in the last two weeks, just got sucked under the ball too often and Pullman had a little too much pace for him. Would like to see McGovern and McInnes thrown around a little more.

Hill was ok. Chased well as he usually does but got a few cheap goals and struggled to find the pill for the second week running.

Given Lycetts form and notwithstanding sinclairs handy contributions in the seniors have we backed the wrong horse paying Sinclair in front of Lycett?
Sinclair's basically been a half forward who rucks a bit. Lycett can't play that role. He can ruck or play deep forward IMO. For the circumstances we're in, Sinclair is the better fit for now.

They said the same about another bloke who ended up an All Australian captain. Fair to say we can expect similar things from Maginness

Hutchings, Sheed and Lycett were the clear standouts yesterday and could easily be best 22.
Lycetts pace, agility and speed around the contest is astounding, could easily be a ruck rover with his skills, we are very lucky to have him.

I thought Wilson was fantastic in the back pocket, defended well and disposal was really good.

Really feel like we should get games into Lycett soon, clubs will come knocking with big money and then say 'what should we give you anything more than a third rounder for a guy who cant a game for you?'.

Aren't we playing Sinclair over Lycett because he'll be back onto the rookie list in a few weeks while Lycett will have 16 weeks where he could play? This was prior to Waters being ruled out for the season though.

More a balancing act than actually having a preference.
