Toast WC & The Booing

The booing is brilliant as long as we don't target individuals who haven't done anything *during the game* to deserve it (trying to kill one of our players is a good example...dancing, not so much). Having said that, booing Jobe just after he admitted using AOD was totally fine. Also, booing a player that tried to murder one of ours in a previous game is also fine. I'm looking at you Tyrone.

Boo loud, boo long, boo indiscriminantly. It creates amazing atmosphere. Annoying the Vics is just a bonus.
To make it fair, we should just boo continuously whenever we don't have possession.

Stuff em be loud and obnoxious as possible it completes us. There’s a reason why I have a membership to Perth glory in the shed end and it isn’t becuase I like standing :D

Pretty sad that 17 clubs don’t have fan bases that care enough to get involved in the game. I’d be embarrassed to be part of an apathetic group who sit on their hands.
They can't make up their minds though - one minute we are Chardonnay sipping theatre goers with no atmosphere at our games, and the next minute (once we become successful and are a threat), we are accused of being ferals for making too much noise with our booing, and all of a sudden we are the very worst of supporters:think::think:. Wish they could make up their minds:rolleyes:.

BOO with arrogance...!

AFL has already taken privileges away for interstate teams- before game training on the MCG, GF at MCG till 2057 and yet the opposition can train at Optus Stadium prior to games - what more advantages do they want? booing is just part of fans/sports worldwide.

The problem with non- eagles or dockers Perth based supporters, is they go to one-two games a year, and it’s all they’ve grown up with. They grow up in a town that’s obviously behind the local teams and they get this self righteous chip on their shoulder. This chip snowball over time.
In fairness - they are often the only club x supporter that a lot of people know - so come the end of a losing game against us they get 50 text / facebook messages of gloating and memes etc - does tend to drag

I’m the same, I don’t go into the shed because I like the view

Is that right?? - taken away pre-game training at MCG?
Makes my blood boil...I remember Eddy announcing that on The Footy F**k Show,
while gloating with guile and glee (excuse my allit) at their masterful corruption
in locking down/out MCG games, then adding "BUT..we'll give the interstate teams
a bonus, a packet of smiths crisps on the flight over..and they get to train at the MCG!
So everyone's a winner!!!"
...now they've removed that?
We need to incorporate neo-footy political chants into our boo-ing, Anti-Vic choruses,
Eddy Must Go war-cries! A football social-media revolution!
Boo with aggressive passion, Boo the house down! Boo so they can hear it in Victoria!
GRRRRrrrrr....;)

I moved to Sydney before the start of last season and have been to most of their matches, including the EF against Essendon last year and GWS on the weekend (both big crowds). It is so bloody quiet. Like, eerily. No 'BALLLLLLLL', or even any big roars when an awesome tackle/mark/goal happens.
Our crowd is truly unique and we should be proud of it. I flew back to Perth for Round 1 at Optus and couldn't believe the atmosphere. Particularly the third quarter when we got on a bit of a run. THAT is how true supporters sound.
Sod the Victorians. They only fill their stadiums when two 'rivals' play each other and it is a timelsot that suits them (how crook was the whinging about the Thursday final last week?! Get over yourselves).
I hope you blokes boo the bejesus out of the oppo in the Prelim. God knows I will be the following week at the G.

It was pissing me right off at how quiet the crowd was when I was at the Port game. I swear I was only one of a couple getting vocal at all amongst our section. The traveling port supporters made more noise than us. F*** that. Give me constant cheers / boos any day. Saturday’s atmosphere was sensational, I can only imagine what it’s like in the middle of the ground with all of the noise directed right at you. When I watched a replay at home with the surround sound I was impressed with our efforts and all the sour grapes is just because opposition fans shit themselves at the thought of their team having to confront it

Is this really the best they could come up with for the 2018 anti-Eagles agenda?

Surely 'but, but.. they boo' is just the entree. There's gotta be a 2006 drugs, 1990s PEDs, goldfish consumption based story being held off until prelim week.
We encourage players who beat up defenceless 18 year olds

You're right on the money there - if we were less successful (like Freo) it wouldnt even be mentioned! Which means they're worried we're on the march again;).
Yes 100% this.

My wife and I lived in Melbourne for 5 years and the opposition supporters I remember being the worst also happened to be the clubs the Eagles either lost to or had tight tussles with. If we were smashing them (which happened often between 2004 - 2008) I guess I just didn't give a stuff about the booing or the general antics of the opposition supporters.

It's all psychological. If you're frustrated that your team is losing or just can't get on top, every little thing will just add to that.

Christ, I was at the game the other night and people kept wanting to get past me to get drinks during key moments in the match. I told my son that next time we would be sitting in the ****ing dry area.

I was completely irrational!

They shot their wad a bit early with the Gaff stuff. Should have saved all the culture criticism for 6 weeks later.

Oh this is just week two.

  1. Week one was the leak about our current ruckman signing with Port Adelaide;
  2. Week two will be the booing and our feral supporters;
  3. Week three will be something to do with the 2007-08 drug scandal; and, if we make it
  4. Week 4, channel 7 will release lost footage showing Jack Darling on the Grassy Knoll.

Am I right in saying channel Basil has started turning down our crowd noise and even muting it entirely at certain points during the telecast?
I noticed that when Collingwood ran out and their song started to play the crowd started to boo and then complete silence.
