I just think it is incredible that we are the first and only fans to think of booing opposition players to put them off their game.
When umpires make a decision that is somewhat WRONG and costs us and we don't like it we are the only supporters in the universe that boo??

Well good on us.
I just hope nobody else realises this booing concept and uses it against us.

Am I right in saying channel Basil has started turning down our crowd noise and even muting it entirely at certain points during the telecast?
I noticed that when Collingwood ran out and their song started to play the crowd started to boo and then complete silence.

Not sure about that. In the final quarter it sounded like the commentators were almost having to shout to be heard above the crowd noise

It doesn't come across on the tv at home though imo, I reckon they're turning down the crowd mic

I'd like to hear how noisy it is though even if it's not for the whole match, the commentators keep banging on about how loud it is but on tv it doesn't sound any louder than any other AFL game

This thread is surely predicated on the notion that no other crowds boo. Or at least that we boo significantly more than all other crowds.

AFL has already taken privileges away for interstate teams- before game training on the MCG, GF at MCG till 2057 and yet the opposition can train at Optus Stadium prior to games - what more advantages do they want? booing is just part of fans/sports worldwide.

In fairness - they are often the only club x supporter that a lot of people know - so come the end of a losing game against us they get 50 text / facebook messages of gloating and memes etc - does tend to drag

and they go to their one game a year getting pissed and instead of being witty and a dickhead towards the players and the ground, they go at the supporters. And that's where it begins.

This is why it's so noticeable at our games.

The stadium usually has minimal opposition supporters at West Coast games.

I live in Victoria. I'm usually outnumbered 1000 to 1 at games I attend. The constant booing I experience is strangely satisfying when I walk out a winner.

Massive fan of the boo. I just boo for the sake of it, and to troll. It's grown legs and we should embrace booing the opposition at every opportunity.

It would be so awesome if we could get soccer style chants happening with a crowd of 60k

So we have to put up with the con’s of being an interstate team eg playing at a lower teams home ground for a grand final we are seeded higher for.

But can’t enjoy one of the few perks in having a lobsided crowd.

Id rather fans boo than swear

Having been to pies games in Melbourne pies fans swear at umps....swear at opposition...then when losing swear at thier own fans and players/coaches.

I watch the eagles only on tv and believe me it is horrible listening to the crowd at times.Every teams supporters boo in some manner but I would be happier if our mob toned it down a bit and at e appropriate times .Every umpiring decision whether right or wrong is booed by our mob and just makes those who boo look like uninformed fools.
