JON has had a few BOG for coburg, but if he cant crack it with the tiges senior team, then why would we want him? Your gonna have to sell me more candy on JON i have seen him play AFL and he looks out of his depth. Looks as skinny as notte too. How old is he?

Working our skill level would hurt either , when preseason starts the first month would be solid running and working up to season proper I would be working them into the ground with skills work we fall way to short in this area for professional footballers.......
Another area of concern is a game plan!!!!!!!!!!!!

We need a way to put them in pressure situations whilst they are going for a disposal. Mabye a heard of bulls chasing them down and they have to try and pin point a pass to a leading full forward. If they fail a family member looses a finger. When they learn to handle that it might fix up there disposal under pressure.

I look at how Rodan has developed for Port and would love a player like him to be playing for us. Just his speed, ability to dodge around people and willingness to take on tacklers is something we need. If there is a Rodan mark II in this years draft I would be all for us taking him, but I have not seen enough of the recycled players to make a call on the issue.

Honestly I don't think Corey is a "speedy mid" but he is very classy and I wouldn't mind seeing him at West Coast as long as we don't have to faulk out too much to get him.

IMO JON is worth a punt, more so if we can get him in the PSD. Why?

He's still young and being indigenous you run a greater risk taking them away from home. If he was / is a WC fan then coming back home to the club he supported growing up could work wonders. We are looking for young pacy mids arleady in the system, he is a young pacy mid in the system.

I wouldn't be giving up a 2nd round pick for him, if he's still eligible to go on our rookie list maybe thats where we gets his second chance, crickey, if we gave Armstrong a go this guy has a mountain more talent to burn.

imo we should go after Lovett and Ray mor lovett though

would you guys do Hunter for Lovett i would considering w already have plenty of key backs so hunter wont be much of a lose and essendon could really use him down back in replacemnt of mal micheal and fletcher

hunter should be an untouchable. mitch will be FF so hunter stays at chb

Geez, I don't know where this idea that Hunter is expendable comes from.

Are you so impressed with Spangher, Wilkes and Mackenzie that you think Hunter is now totally surplus to requirements?

How about we wait until these guys actually play a full season before shopping Hunter, who remains our second-best KPP?

Subject: Profile: Oakley- Nicholls

- Oakley-Nicholls is not a top 5 pick, or even top 10, in a typical year's draft. This year is as light on for obvious top 10 quality as 2000 but at least 2000 had Riewoldt, Didak and Kos who looked to be the clear top 3. I can't see Oakley-Nicholls going top 5 even this year but I rank him at 5 on the basis that:-

Gee Wiseby was pretty wrong about the '05 draft...very underrated draft which is already producing some serious talent.

Zaharakis, Walters, Hill, Yarran, Sidebottom and Jetta are just a few.
Lets draft them and not trade for other teams rubbish. If JON cant get a game at tiger land what makes us think he would get a game here!

I cant believe guys like JON and farren ray are even being talked about. Both are shithouse.JON would barely get 5 games per season. And Ray would only get a game, coz we are a shit team this year.If we had the 07 team this year, ray would be playin all year at Peel. And since when has ray been a pacy midfielder?Coz pacy is not a word id use to describe him.If we get either of these 2,our recruiting is seriously going backwards at an alarming rate.

because tony notte looks like he should be in an anorexia clinic but he got a game. think we should chase prismal over JON but getting JON is probably more likely.

woosha has said he is looking to bring in mids already playing at afl level... so we should expect this to happen. for me there are 2 players we should targeting... prismall and/or ray

Not really.

He's said they'd look at players who are available.

That doesn't constitute any kind of guarantee that we'll trade for an established mid. Far from it.

I'm not expecting us to acquire any players during trade week.

Me to Gunnar. To be honest I hope we actually off load a few rather than acquire any.

I just can't think of any tradeable players from other clubs that I'd really want at WC.

People have banged on variously about Joel Corey, Farren Ray, Andrew Lovett and JON.

If that's all that's on the menu, I hope we accumulate as many draft picks as possible and start building from scratch.

Agreed.

I have no gravitational pull to these players, rather looking forward to pushing our current youngsters and blooding a few more in the seasons to come.

If it means another 2 yrs of pain so be it.

Saddle up.

So he was just talking bollox was he? Drafting only young players is no 100% guarantee ticket back to the top. i expect a bit of both.
