Ahh, yes it is.

Can't you accept the facts Redlegs?

And the fact is you receive money from the AFL.

The Power are still paying off their licence.

Melbourne has no members. No members = no money.

Wrong, however including AFL handouts in your profit forecasts is certainly denying reality.

The amount of times I see Dees fans saying to Hawthorn supporters "Clean my shoes feral!" and rubbishing their lower class roots ... yet its your club who are the dole bludgers at the AFL feeding trough.

Yes, we did make a loss this year but we went into the year knowing we would be recieving handouts so we went about our business knowing we could afford to make a loss. Without the handouts, im sure we would have tryed much harder to breakeven.

And the no members = no money comment is bs. We had a record membership figure this year and considering the highest majority of mcc members are MFC supporters, we have plenty more.

Dees fans are idiots, so it's not surprising really. They think their club is so good, and yet it is a legacy case.

this is a crazy comment
surely every club must try their hardest to make each and every post a winner especially when it comes to finances
the above is like saying they had opportunities to make money but didn't bother coz of the handout
any business or club official so negligent would not only be sacked but also possibly be in the courts for professional incompetence negligence and failure to discharge his duty

Yeah record membership of 24,000. The third lowest of the AFL.

And the teams below you? Western Bulldogs and the Kangaroos.

At least these clubs admit they are struggling.

So stop deluding yourself, if more Melbourne supporters became members, you wouldn't have to put your hand out.

Melbourne has the champagne taste on a beer budget.

Hey dude, teh 1.5 mill was payment for the last 3, repeat 3, seasons. So .5 a season - still has us at .5 mil profit.

not to mention ports little licsense fee is only 220k - they lost 800k

At least try to use the correct figures.

From the club website

none of which are unique to this year.
you have had these charges every year since 1997.

so why is it an excuse this year?
