St Kilda made Hamill an offer which would've made him one of the three highest players at our club. We rated him eighth best player, and Elliott's insults made matters worse. This is from someone who was directly involved in the negotiations.
If someone offered me double my salary to change jobs, and my current employer didn't value my work, I'd leave too. The 'Judas' remarks from some people I'll politely describe as uninformed at best.
That was 20 years ago and probably had more to with the way we were run than Aaron being a sh*t bloke. And that has borne out in the following years.
Neither of which seem relevant to wether he can coach.
Can’t bring myself to like this, because of our history with this bloke. It’s right up there with bringing in Waite as a coach.
Thank heavens we were taking the salary cap seriously back then.this is 100% accurate. Jack went hard at him at that B&F, and the $ difference was significant.
Can you list the people you do like at the club?
Yep. His whole family. Loved the blues.Hamill supported us when he was a kid, pretty sure.

If I was going to hold a grudge against a bloke for over 20 years I would have at least done a bit of research into why I took out the grudge against him in the first place. The way he left iirc, huge offer from st k and said Jack Elliot disrespected him at club function.
Carlton tried a lot to get him to stay then he threatened to go into the draft.
My apologies if this is wrong ,me personally i didnt like the way he left at the time.
How do you know Scarlett is a good coach? We’ve just heard that he may have had a falling out with not only Chris Scott but also Jordan Clark. Geelong’s defensive structure doesn’t appear to be overly scientific - basically get Tom Stewart free to play the intercept role - as evidenced by how shizenhausen they looked when he went down at the back end of the year.I can get over the whole Judas thing, but it’s pretty underwhelming when you think you’re a chance at getting Scarlett. 10 years coaching at StKida..StKilda ffs.. Not exactly known for their defensive structures.

you could get into the old English drums nextI like typing the word Carlton. It looks very regal in the typed form.
I even bought a bike because it is the Carlton brand.

I dont have a grudge ,i didnt want him back as i have doubts about what he brings as his 10 year stint at stk doesnt appear to be a roaring success from where i sit.If I was going to hold a grudge against a bloke for over 20 years I would have at least done a bit of research into why I took out the grudge against him in the first place.
He has always said he wanted to stay knowing he would have to accept less money but a very public show of disrespect from Elliott towards him was the catalyst in him accepting the St Kilda offer.
I have always hoped he’d return, it tore us apart when he left as he would have been captain one day had he stayed, one might say it was the beginning of a decline we have never really recovered from.
I have no idea of he’s a good assistant coach but channeling my irrational emotions of being a fan of both the club and Hammill I’m glad he is back.
Surely he wouldn’t take the paycut….more likely soliciting Voss for help to get his daughter back to the bears.Jonathan Brown seen having coffee with Vossy outside PP. Two old friends catching up or something else?
who said anything about needing musical talent? It’s a drum…Sadly I have sporting talent. Musical talent I am bereft of.
I’d take Geelong’s defence over StKilda’s any day of the week. I think the results speak for themselves. How do you know Scarlett is a good coach? How often do you think the story around these sorts of events is the full story? The way he left iirc, huge offer from st k and said Jack Elliot disrespected him at club function.

They are close friends, Browny said on 360 he was speaking to Vossy days before he got appointed. The thought of Browny as a coach, actually I like the idea of it but I don’t think it will happenJonathan Brown seen having coffee with Vossy outside PP. Two old friends catching up or something else?
Maybe we just wait and see yeah? Good coaches bring intangibles that go towards a successful culture with full buy in. If he can be part of that here we will be successful.Right after you break it down as to what our new defensive coach actually brings to the table in terms of record as a defensive coach in the league.
I'm interested in what he's actually done of any note in the coaching position we've hired him for.
agreed. Still can’t bring myself to like it.
