Essendon have lost father son picks
No doubt we are worse off.But that was never an option
There is a huge difference between the two
The only argument is which measure we lost
Bock + compo
Brisbane's 2 firsts
22 + white

So even with Demetriou's disgraceful comment, the second point of the above letter is pretty much exactly what Chapman said on the radio yes?Who wants to bet that the response will be;
Dear Crows supporters,
As Chairman of the Adelaide Crows I have received a great deal of mail from our supporter base in relation to the comparison of penalties between the Adelaide Football club and the Essendon Football Club.
Firstly, I would say that the strength of our club is demonstrated by the passion of our supporter base and I have tried my best to respond individually to each person. I truly feel blessed that our club has such support.
Secondly, we have discussed the matter with the AFL and we are more than comfortable with the sanctions that have been applied in both cases. We thank our overlords for allowing us the opportunity to speak with them and now declare the matter closed.
Regards,
Rob Chapman

Pathetic.
Oh excellent find. THANK YOU!
I was debating with my mate last night on this very issue. He thought if a club bid a first rounder for an Essendon player this year, all they needed to do was bid their next pick, which is athird rounder. I knew he was wrong, I was just looking for the ammunition to defeat him.
During the Essendon saga we got to see the AFL will drip feed information only when they felt there was a need to and even then only the smallest amount necessary. Why are we being told by the AFL something completely contradictory to what we were told last December about our level of co-operation and the penalties associated with it?
Can anybody answer that?
It's irrelevant for us, but very relevant for Essendon, and the fact that Michael Long's son, Jake, is going to be available

Sanity prevails on this issue, at least. It was absurd that they could have picks stripped away, but still retain the right to bid for Long with their remaining picks.
The question is, which other club would risk picking Long up, knowing he's a huge chance to bail at the end of his first contract?
Carlton gave pick 1 for Bryce Gibbs despite the Crows releasing media statements that he would be back here within two years. Clubs are generally happy to back themselves in unless the players specifically tells them he doesn't want to be there.
Do we really think the AFL waited until the last round before dropping on Essendon because it didn't have enough evidence. Keeping the Bombers alive until late did nothing for it bottom line in gate takings either.
This bloke is right:

It sounds by Chapman's comments on the radio like he's hiding something, something that prevents us from going overtly ape shit at the inequity foisted upon us.
The disconnect between the lip service he paid the emails of furious members last night about planning our response and his lame platitudes today confirm it. Its worse than we know.
Until Trigg keeps his promise and tells the world the truth about what went down we don't have a leg to stand on.
Yes, we negotiated sackings down to suspensions, but at what price?
You will receive it after the first promise of the full tippettgate storyEverybody who sent him an email and received a response along the lines of, "I hear you, response to come shortly!!"
Should now send another email, asking when we can expect the promised response to be made.
Even if Demetriou just got a bit muddled on the phone, he was still justifying the difference in the severity of our penalties on this supposed lack of cooperation on our part.
If the justification for the differing penalties relies on difference in the levels of cooperation which Demetriou has since backed away from... then can the question Rowe asked be asked again?
It's not just that he got it wrong though.Demetriou needs to retract the statements or clarify them, as they are completely contradictory to the statements the AFL made in December last year.
Unacceptable. And we should be pursuing it.
It's not just that he got it wrong though.
It's that he used this wrong fact as justification for the level of penalties.

100% agreed - this is exactly how I feel.
It's Clever Media 101. Don't want to answer an awkward question accurately? Just throw out a bullshit line to avoid answering it probably, then apologise for it later. And nobody is ever smart enough to say "okay, but now your last answer is clearly incorrect, what do you say about that?"
