How do you eat the bacon? I always leave the mash to mop up the jus.Always eat my peas , corn , carrots first , then attack the Ribeye

Absolutely , but who can afford itMedium rare I hope
Always have roomNooo then you fill up on the peas/corn/carrots and have less room for the steak!
Yep, I noticed it too. The encroachment over the mark was blatant. Couldn't buy a HTB when the ball was clearly dropped in the tackle. The "free" on Josh Daicos was laughable.Even before Warner complained to the umpire that he'd been set back too far on the mark for Nick Daicos' long range shot at goal, I'd noticed throughout the first quarter that there were several times where the umpires allowed Pies players to stand a metre or two metres forward of the mark, without warning them to move back. I also noticed the Pies could kick to a teammate who was clearly under 15m away yet they'd be awarded a mark, whereas Swans' kicks were rigidly policed.
Like unpaid frees for HTB (De Gooey), even repeated examples of this type of umpire bias don't show up in the stats, so they slip by. Some might even think that such small examples of favouritism won't have much overall effect on the game. Given the number of close wins the Pies had in 2023 and the number of close losses we experienced in 2023, it all adds up.
I accept that umps are only human and mistakes will be made, but such blatant and repetitive umpiring bias needs to be called out. Sadly, in most cases, the commentators say nothing, the other team has every reason to say nothing and we look like whiners if we bring it up. Horse et al are not even allowed to call it out (publicly).
Even a perceived bias towards Collingwood (and other Melbourne teams) from within the (largely Melbourne centred) AFL establishment puts at risk the national expansion of our wonderful game.
Did the cheating continue into the other quarters? I can't say for sure. I stopped looking for it as it was putting me off the game.
The Daicos boys are very good players, so it really riles me up when the umps keep giving them soft free kicks (like FFS they don’t need any extra help!) … and Nick especially has to stop looking for frees, that one where he was on the ground in Q3 and he deliberately threw his head towards Florent’s arm to make out he was hit high was sickening, the ump who gave that free should be given a spell!Yep, I noticed it too. The game against the Dee's was better.

Cognitive bias has been studied thoroughly and it is a thing. People are often shocked when it is revealed.Even before Warner complained to the umpire that he'd been set back too far on the mark for Nick Daicos' long range shot at goal, I'd noticed throughout the first quarter that there were several times where the umpires allowed Pies players to stand a metre or two metres forward of the mark, without warning them to move back. And you wanted to trade rowbottomWowee. That was, without any exaggeration, the most enjoyable home & away win I can remember. For the second week in a row, we just stuck at it. I really don't know how else to describe these last two games other than "sticking at it." Ferocious intensity, followed by inevitable lapses, followed by such mature absorbing of the opposition's momentum, followed by ferocious intensity to regroup. There's a maturity there that's translated into two really easy watches, even when the scoreboard's suggested I should be nervous.
Best on ground once again was Heeney. Ironic that we played the Pies tonight, because the player Heeney's reminded me of the last two weeks is one S. Pendlebury. Strong, balanced and poised. It's a really unique combination of attributes. Makes him hard to predict. He's a big body so he should use brute force but instead uses his aerodynamism. He's a hard, contested mid, so shouldn't be so calm with the ball like an outside player. He's a mind-f*** for opponents and I feel like we haven't had a mid like that since... I don't even know when.
Rowbottom when he's on is the most impactful player on our list and as the great ancient philosopher Dido once said, I will go down with this ship. It's the second week in a row it's felt like he's laid the foundations for team dominance that others have then feasted on. Although was he being managed or something? Just 30% inside time and only 74% TOG tonight was weird considering our outs and the mids being our only weakness tonight.
McCartin & Melican... oh boy. I've made no secret I love a key defender partnership. Bolton & Barry, Richards & Grundy (which still sounds like a songwriting partnership from the early 60s). You could actually see how confident both boys were playing aggressive and in front tonight, as if they knew the other's presence in the team could cover any mistakes. It cannot be understated how important having that confidence in each other is for defenders.
Not sure I'm a fan of McDonald being accused of getting "cheapies." I'd say it's the result of a combination of smart reading of the play from McDonald and effective structuring from the other forwards that we were so often able to get that spare forward out the back. It's akin to accusing Gulden's many handball receives or Warner getting on the end of plays inside 50 as being "cheapies."
I thought Fox had some great moments, McLean & Amartey both contributed when needed, Roberts' ability to get boot to ball in tight confines was impressive, and McInerney really grew into the game and showed some of that signature hutzpah (God it feels good to use that word.)
Apologies for the rant all. I am ******* so happy.

Clearing the veges to avoid any cross-contamination of steak is a very prudent approach.

When he’s fit, Adams has to come in, at least for 4 or 5 games in a row to prove himself (which I think he will)… from the current side, I’d say the following players would be most at risk - Lloyd, Hayward, Campbell & Jordon (and possibly Foxy & Harry, but they’re performing great team roles atm)… I’d persevere with Party given he showed a fair bit against the Pies.So who goes out then? Adam’s might struggle to force his way in
