Reid is nowhere near the best player in the comp. Is he arguably the best young prospect? Yes he is, but as you've rightly put it, he's only 8 games in so that really means * all considering draftees develop at different rates.

What an absolute f*ing joke. Kid is a freaking excitement machine jet and Kane has nothing better to talk about than complain about some cramp late in a game for a player in what, his 8th game.

Clearly with Reid you have to take the long view in his development and the expectations put on him. He's still adjusting to AFL level and improving his tank, while taking on new midfielders each week. Already oppo teams are paying attention to him and perhaps like Judd he'll have to learn how to work through tags etc, so his performance will swing from week to week. Hopefully we'll still get to see some exciting moves throughout this stage.
And let's not even think about injuries.

He is not going anywhere.

He loves playing footy, and evidently I think he loves playing with a group of mates. The blokes consistently has a smile on his face when playing, and I think he would enjoy having a whole state get around him.
