Simmo on 6PR tonight said that Reid will get the same 4/5 day break as the rest of the squad. That break starts on Sunday, so he will be at the game on Saturday and back at the club with everyone else late next week, or next weekend. Simmo said he'll take the time to hone a few areas he can improve in.

Nothing about staying back 10min after training. Typical.

I hope this means 4/5ths of a day off.

That's all Harley deserves!!

Pyke has ordered Harley to rip up the MRP turf and get started on a new soil treatment plan so he will effectively be doing a mini preseason before his return

Puke gave Harley a massive spiel about how his entire generation wouldn't know the sweet sting of sweat in their eyes after a hard day's work and that Harley would be spending his winter break learning some respect and building character by changing sprinkler heads at MRP with GoEaglesGoSGIO. Gonna make a man out if him.

Article on Reid in the Herald Sun today… puff piece on what might have changed had North lost to Gold Coast etc…

The thing that took my eye was that it seems to indicate his parents offered to shift over?

Hope the kid watches this horror story going on at the moment and thinks about it the next time he wants to dump a bloke on his head out of frustration. Clearly today isn't his fault but by f*cking God we are horrible without him and Kelly..literally no balls, no spunk, a lifeless, slow, soft, ineffectual team...top picks in the midfield are a MUST for this team

yeah, that's incorrect. Was said a few weeks ago that they were going to move but decided to stay to give him space living out of home for the first time.

Anyone else thinking the same or do l just have a different take.

Has a vic girlfriend always seems to be going back to vic rather than staying in WA and having a look around the state. Even Judd didn’t go back to Vic as much and he left.

Other vic players must be think why can he head home as much as he dose. I don’t like different standards in a footy club even if he is the best player we have.

You don’t see brashaw and freo vic players go home only Cerra did that and he left.

He went back once when the club decided to give him a break?

It's not like he's doing a JHF and just ducking off without permission from the club.

How much time?

It’s a game off on weekend, not “no training during the week”. Lose conditioning.

I actually thought this was satire at first it’s that dumb.

Everyone gets the weekend off.

Next training session is Thursday.

Everyone else is either gone home for the bye or down south on the piss.

Pretty sure he realised immediately he was going to miss a few weeks and instantly regretted it.

How pathetic are we for being overly reliant on an 11 gamer to get a win.

We really should have beaten both Saints and North Harely or no Harley.

He's been to Vic what? Twice? Both times, permitted by the club because he's been given rest.

His Vic girlfriend plays AFLW for Carlton, who just started their pre-season last week. He won't get to spend much time with her the next couple months outside of trips to Vic.

Genuinely need to stop overthinking what is perfectly normal behaviour. He'll spend plenty of time seeing WA over the coming years. Hell, I've lived here for 30 years and have seen bugger all of what it has to offer.

Eh we are a wooden spoon side and were playing a finals side from last year (in the Saints case obviously).

The North one grates me more because of how bad they have been in general, but the Saints loss although definitely a winnable game, we didn't start favourites and we made it a contest at least.

You are correct thought in that if we are relying on a rookie to deliver us wins (albeit a highly rated one) then we are in trouble.

We have been bottom 2 for the majority of the last 2 years and a bit. Of course we are in trouble. Harley Reid would probably be having the same impact with any bottom 4 side he is that good.

Article is almost 3 weeks old, has been covered to death. Is what accurate? Rookie player misses family after moving across the country? Not exactly a shock there, he will get more used to it as time goes on.

Hopefully, but it's not a good sign. Being 19 with a gf interstate can't be easy. Would need a circuit braker for that.

Luckily for us he's contracted until the end of 2026 and if she has any sense she'll be trying to move over here ASAP. I don't want to speculate on a teenagers relationship but long distance ones are generally tenuous at best, let alone one with the biggest young sports star in the country.

Hence the circuit breaker required. If they still together next year, and both their families are in Vic, I'll be worried.
