An exciting day for him and the club. He's obviously a talent but I am nervous for him, there's going to be a lot of scrutiny from both our own supporters and an external mix ranging from the naive ignorant to the malicious scum.
We can't control the external, I hope internally people use their eyes and brains and understand what an impact player is and how it can't be judged on stats. In the same way nuffies for years have said peak Natanui was overrated because he hardly kicked a goal or took a mark, without understanding his huge impact on the game. I'm hoping we get to see peak Jackson transform our team, fingers crossed he lives up to his talent and becomes that impact player for us

Farm = sold.

Either the boldest move the club has made in a while and sets the wheels in motion for our first flag.

Or sends us back to the ol Freo Woolstores (nowehereville).
I don't think it's that dire because the rest of the list is pretty good. It might take the edge off our window a bit if he flops.

Pies gave away Treloar, Stephenson and Aish for all but nothing a few years ago and almost made a GF. You can recover with a quality core.

I think he will feel less pressure now than he has this year. Back home, with all the trade talk done, and recovered from the knee issue that clearly troubled him in mid-to-late season, I expect him to thrive.

Should have just thrown in Rory Lobb as part of the deal, get that miserable, useless kharnt out

The Farm is fine Sting. This is what loading up for a championship run on top of excellent drafting looks like.

The picks are at their lowest relative value to us currently, developed, potentially star players are at their most valuable.

Solid trade. Gave something, got something. Still well positioned for the coming years.

I'm fully on board and ready to take the fall if he ends up being s**t. I really think he'll be the best player in the league soon enough
Well if that's the case... I hope he goes well.

I wasn't keen on him. Simply because of the last WA tall forward we picked up from the demons.

I am not keen on what we gave up as well.

So yeah.... Unless we have a finals run of 2012-15 again, I don't see this ending well

Hogan and Jackson have absolutely nothing in common as footballers.

well I was very vocal about NOT trading for Luke Jackson, but I was more concerned about losing Lobb to replace him with Luke.....that being said, the deal is done. I personally think it was "overs", but as much as I dislike Melbourne and HATE trading with them after the Hogan debacle - I think this is a good get, retrospectively...Luke is a quality young player, already a Premiership player with 52 games under his belt, enormous upside/versatility and footy smarts galore...looking forward to his debut in the Purple and seeing what he can do back in his home state, with family and friends support, notwithstanding providing much better "ruck relief" for big Darce, whilst simultaneously playing every available position on the ground, the juggernaut that he be!!

Many welcomes Mr. Jackson, you 'little' smooth criminal. A Premiership in your first year here please...no pressure!!! :p:thumbsu::freo:
