Anyone notice Hayden sprint up to the centre square just to tackle his brother vs North Melbourne?
At the 13:20 minute mark of the 2nd quarter.

No but I'm happy to watch a replay!

This is enormous news and really sets a precedent! It also in a surreptitious way, puts to bed the idea that the players aren't united by Longmuir's coaching style or approaches - not that I feel anyone specifically targeted that, but we've all felt a bit ding-dong sing a song miserable the past fortnight wondering if we truly are on the 'right path'. Decisions like this help ease the mind.......coochie coo Youngy, sing me a lullaby! Ahhhhhh, that's better :laughv1:

If you're invested in bringing this club success and you're from outside Perth/WA origins...speaks volumes. Cheers Youngy for having that faith....now, let's go and make it get rewarded :D

Fantastic news and also a great show of faith in our system

I know we get worked up about picking Vic kids, but we're clearly doing something that has got them invested and willing to stay in the Longmuir era of the squad, outside of the obvious casualty in Cerra who probably would have left even if we became the Docklands Dockers

beautiful timing on this statement commitment from Youngy! this lends some much needed perspective, after two weeks of poor return for effort, we are reminded that this group are learning to be great, its a bumpy road.
Not to be too much or a cynic but the club always does this, holds onto good news for when we are doing crap

Best news to wake up to 😍
He was the one I so hoped would stay but thought would leave .
Great Decision Youngy 👍
The waves over here are better anyway 😁

Yeah great news.

Hopefully that means Young will stay at Freo for life and end up being a 200 plus game player at Freo. We certainly need a few more of those as after Walters gets there we probably won't see another one until Brayshaw.

I still can't get my head around his deep croaky voice as it just doesn't match his surfy look.

Country Vic kids are very different to kids from Melbourne.

Hayden Young is from Somerville which is just on the outside of Melbourne but it isn’t city living.

Brayshaw might have been a Melbourne city kid but he has family in Perth and went for the Dockers.

It’s case by case but I do agree with the principle of not drafting Melbourne city kids like Cerra.

Better to downgrade the pick or trade it for future picks.

He bit off another one of those ridiculous kicks into the middle yesterday (Q3 I think) that almost lead to a goal.

Very few players have a kick like Young

Those kicks are sexy, opens up our whole attack. Trying to think of other players in the AFL who can do that kick regularly and are known for it?

Not to mention it gets the commentators a bit excited

Can anyone find a Vic Country kid that’s left us? I tried once. Think I got to about 15 seasons back without finding a single one then gave up.

Of the Vic Country kids we’ve drafted Young and Sturt are nearly Vic Metro.

I agree that drafting Metro kids is risky.

Yep, the kick got picked off, but he was trying to be aggressive by trying something. He is an architect, sets up our plays.

By the way, have been amazed with his toughness. Contested marking is becoming a massive asset.
