Does anybody expect a 7 gamer to be a finished product. He got beat he’ll learn and get better.

Especially within a system that arguably failed far more than the defender caught out of position on a turnover against a player on debut, but very talented.

God himself (Pav) gave this guy three votes. Another step towards his chosen path of becoming the second greatest* Docker of all time.

*Obviously only dwarfed by Benning surpassing any and everything as the greatest entity to ever grace the hallowed turf of 7 time Brownlow medallist's.

Heath Chapman with a 19ish ranking point game against GWS.

Jason Horne-Francis scored 11ish ranking points.
Riccardi got the nomination despite having a really bad ranking score for his game. Selection people just looked at the four goals and gave it to him. Which to be fair I guess everyone at the time thought it was weird that four goals could have such a shit return. But given his career has been pretty meh since then maybe they werent wrong. Anyway Chapman probably had a better game but Francis has a nicer stat line and is far more high profile player.

Let him stay under the radar. He is starting to catch teams off guard with his Intercepts and competitve nature.

JhF can have it.
100%

Have never understood why some get so hung up on on the lack of acknowledgement we get from over east - Be it on an individual or team level. The less the better as far as I’m concerned.

Yeah, good thing teams just rely on the media to find out which players are good and don't do their own opposition analysis...
Fair point. Actually wouldn't mind knowing how that stuff has changed with covid.

A little related, was quietly impressed with the club scouting Treacy and Worner during covid.

How absolutely ridiculous is his ability to keep his feet and stay strong through the contest. It's unbelievable, it seems like Darcy could run into him full steam and he'd stay upright. It's such a ridiculous weapon and as that core strength keeps building, he looks like he's going to be untackleable like all the best players are.

After a rough first couple of games, it's been good to see him back to that Fyfe level hype again. He's been unreal the last two weeks

Played barely a dozen games in his career and already has the poise of a veteran. I couldn’t really see the hype last year - sure he showed signs and looked promising - but his 2022 is next level stuff. Bloody good footballer.

His spear passes into the midfield are bloody great. Thread the needle when opposition players expect him to be conservative. It just opens up play so well instead of a contest on a wing. There will of course be times when his spear is intercepted or off target by a few metres, but we can live with that if he is hitting 80%.

One of the best defenders and midfielders of all time calling Chappie as potentially elite at both...

Talk about 'Game recognising game"

Loving chappie's work right now. There was a 5-minure period against GWS where he had three or four defensive intercepts in a row, followed by three or four consecutive F50 entries... It was like an episode of Chappe vs the entire GWS backline... And it ended in a draw.

We're gonna have to move him into the middle eventually, because sooner or later opposing players are gonna start shouting out to each other "for Christ's sake keep it away from Chapman!" ...same way they'll be calling out "Don't give Young a chance to kick it!"

Huge talent, huge focus, huge humility... what a rare combination!
Keep up the bloody good work son.🙂👍👍
