Interesting

64. Fremantle - Xavier Ivisic
Geelong Falcons/Vic Country
MID, 181cm

Ivisic captained the Falcons and exerted his authority through the middle all season. He hunts the ball with ferocity and offers intriguing upside with his clean hands and ability to get from contest to contest. The Dockers are likely to select a midfielder late if they don't claim one with their first-round selection and Ivisic is right in the mix.

Apparently if Malakai Champion is picked by the Weags (or whoever else idk), he'll be the only indigenous player drafted this year.

Cal reckons a bid on Ascroft won't come until around pick 5.
Can anyone explain to me why clubs want the reigning premiers to pay **** all for the best player in the draft?
Can kinda understand why Richmond don't, so they can have bragging rights about having the number one pick. The other clubs are cowards though.

Not to mention that Brisbane already traded their first round pick to Richmond this year for points and if we think there isn't also a side agreement not to bid we are living in a make believe world.

North should bid on him immediately at #2.

Question for me is, would Ashcroft at North mean it's more likely the younger brother requests a trade to Brisbane, or the older brother requests a trade back home to Victoria?

We can do without this year maybe but I've said before we really need to address the midfield over the next 2-3 years.

I'd rather use our last pick on a younger mature aged player that can add depth next year with scope for improvement to do it for quite a few years (and in an ideal world push for best 22).

It's very important to have midfield depth imo and if Erasmus, NOD and Johnson go into the best 22 I have no idea who's left. Fyfe and JOM will retire and I can't see us keeping Brodie past this current contract.

Agree with this.
Isiah Winder as SSP fits this. Just won SFFC F&B. Mature body and now understands what is required to make it. Free hit.

If we draft Berry we've used three first rounders in one off season for small forwards. Then there's Narkle for free.

We've delisted Emmett - everyone else wasn't remotely close to being a small forward.

It'd be borderline negligent to add another small forward after that and ignore other needs (after adding Bolton) that aren't all that far behind.
