Spot on mate, no small forward ground level pressure, the missing component. Sonny cooked. Sturt not the answer.
Yep. Emmett is doing fine as the pressure guy. Freddy is good as the X-factor. Walters is next to nothing at the moment and has to go up the ground to get the pill.
Need to replace Walters and also have a 7th/8th player to rotate through.
Switta can come in for Walters but I don't think JLo has it in him to do it.

Switta will come in for Simpson, who was a defensive liability today, Tigers activity looked to go through Simpson on their way out of D50 as he couldn’t stick a tackle. Not having a go at him, he just needs to work on that a peel for a month then come back in when he demands the spot.

Sturt for Walters

Hot take time ... Treacy will end up a better KPF than #1 pick Ugle-Hagen because of his superior goal kicking

Case in point, top pick v Rookie pick.

Ugle-Hagen, being a top pick, has had a “red carpet” ride to his AFL career. I know he spent a little time in the VFL, that looked through my eye’s as trying to cure his “laziness”. In essence he has had a forward role penned in when he was drafted.

Treacy was a Rookie pick, and has had to work his arse off to stay on the list, then improve weekly to show the coaches that he is worth keeping long term. In essence, he knows what a coalface looks like.

I can comfortably say we have never had a KPF combo close to as good as Treacy and Amiss. Unreal drafting to get JT as a rookie pick and we are set there for 12+ years

Exactly, what's more unique is that we have two KPF's that have started their journey's at our club together - they're better able to build the synergy the more they play under the same system.

We never had that with Pav, it was always just him with some tacked on stop-gap solution all the way from 2003-2016 - he only ever had back-up ruckman, rotating mids and small/medium forwards in support.

Exciting times.

Always runs hard, tackles ferociously, smashes packs if he can't get his hands on the ball, is starting to hold more he can get his hands too, kicks accurately for goal over long distance and cost less than two serves of hot chips. What's not too like?

The fact that he might only have another 14 years in him is cause for concern.

Not too shabby considering he's spent probably the equivalent of a game in the ruck too

That's looking like it's been the making of him, being up the ground taking marks in more space and getting his timing right so that he is more dialed in when inside fifty

Can anyone of the amazing stats guru’s on BigFooty do a comparison of Jye and Josh at their current age versus some of the best recent forwards in the game at the same age?

Franklin, Cameron, Hawkins, Walker, Hogan, Lynch, Kennedy, McKay, Curnow etc. Would also include Pav but he really started as a back.

Comparing some of the key stats for forwards like contested marks, marks, goals, accuracy on goal, tackles.

It would be great to see what trajectory both are on as both players are showing huge signs so young.

I’d do it myself but don’t know where to get the age bracket stats!

ill do one once this semester comes to an end. produce a variety of plots

Hard to believe Hawkins went as a 3rd rounder…

In any case, ignoring the 13kg diff between them, Treacy is ahead on the majority of stats (goal avg being one).
He was a father son, I don't remember the exact rules for father son but they were even worse than they are now. He was rated top 5. In fact they changed the rules because of how cheap Hawkins was I think.

I thought they changed that rule because of Gary Ablett Junior, arguably the best to ever play the game and going for a pick in the 40's - ironically also to Geelong.

Ablett wasn't as highly rated as a junior footballer as Hawkins was. But yeah Geelong certainly won the genetic lottery there.
