Struggle to see where he can break into the 22 though. Hopefully he proves me wrong.

Consider that he is fit and can run out a game, put his name on the team sheet and work around it.

We are shocking kicking the ball inside fifty since Mundy retired, and Crowden was delisted (truly), so just start from the premise that the talent is picked and fill the grunt in around the edges.

He said there was more negotiation involved, so I think Freo wanted a later pick back and Port coughed up direct for it

This was initially going into the night for sure. Phil from WCE board who makes up a lot of shit but seems to have some info sometimes, says their trade value to trade down went to shit when all 3 teams (WCE, Port, Freo) were happy with all 3 players left over. So there's a chance we pulled the 14+30 offer in this scenario

He also said their draft board was Lalor, Ashcroft, FOS, Langford, Lombard, Draper, Smith, Allen, Lindsay, Reid, Hotton. Take all this with a grain of salt though

Look devastated which is always scary but I am happy to take the risk. I'll back the culture, especially with Andy and Caleb (and probably others) who will know how to help him settle.

Will be interesting to see how he actually plays given the conflicting pace reports and the fact that draft reports can somehow be wildly wrong. Understand the Pendles comparison. Similar running gait maybe? Moves like him at times but not sure he plays like him. Reckon Serong is a decent comparison off the highlights.

I'm pretty happy. You're doing a lot right if you're metro's MVP. We have a good record picking sliders that Twomey thought should have gone higher.

Has cracking vision from the highlights, good skills and is good around goals. Pretty sure they are things we need more of.

The trade makes more sense if we were after Allan. Or there was at least a possibility. WC could tell Port that Freo want Berry or Allan, but not sure which one. So Port and WC do the deal to guarantee they each get who they really want.

I honestly had completely different vibes with him compared to O Murphy and Cerra, like I thought the latter two looked ready to cry while Reid was just relieved and him and his dad dont seem like the massive extravert types.

I'm convinced this kid is a Sidebottom clone and I'd love to see the world where him and Coop are playing off the high flank for us for 10 years. Would be a lot of fun to watch

Right, now I'm really torn because I'm positive Phil is a dufus but that does make sense. Freo, like us must have been shitting bricks we were going to miss on one of the names but relaxed when Richmond went tall finally.

While this place was all over Berry, I'd doubt many teams would think Berry is better than Reid and 30...

Yeah this makes the most sense. Eagles didn't trust us to not pick Bo with the trade so wouldn't risk it and went with the Port trade, pick 45 will probably be enough to cover a Champion bid.

What you need is two posts. One decrying him as a poor choice and the other talking him up as steal who should have gone top 6. Then some time in year one or two when you have had the beginnings of a sample of AFL form, you come and delete one as applicable.
