A very under rated aspect of any forward, but the man can jump, when his at the top of his jump it’s very hard to defend.
Yep, makes him play a lot taller than he is. He doesn't need to chase down the opposition, he just needs to provide an option and kick goals and right now he is doing that very well.

It's funny what a few weeks in football can do. At the start of the year he was a VFL hack, now with a run of games under his belt he's showing his worth. Shows how fickle some supporters can be writing someone off after one game.

Maybe it's the era (being a time when we were also somewhat rebuilding) but he reminds me a bit of a Kris Barlow and John Barker type foward. Not a flashy star forward but a guy who could take a mark and kick a couple when needed. Both ended at Hawthorn with a little over 100 games, Barlow kicked 74 goals and Barker 114. Both could have gone longer but injuries took their toll. Let's hope Greene has put all his concerns behind him.

Has a great leap and timing, always taking the ball at its highest point.

Will be more dangerous once Lewis is back and taking the best defender.

Does very well not to get out-marked too often, and brings the ball to ground
Good leap, but an underrated aspect is his arms I reckon. Would wager he has the wingspan of a bloke 10 - 15cm taller.

Fergus is our third forward Lewis first and second TBD. With Brockman Moore O’Sullivan Butler and Bennetts to choose from as the as the other 3 forwards he doesn’t have to do much in that way of pressure. I see him like a Tom Lynch (the acceptable one from the crows) as a lead up connector who runs all day and delivers well and can kick 1-2 goals a game especially when we have 2 kpfs.
I think we can get away with his lack of forward pressure as he is playing as the main tall. When he’s playing as the third tall he’s going to need to apply good pressure as we can’t have 3 of our 6 forwards not applying pressure.

He averaged 3 tackles a game at the dogs so hopefully he can do that for us.

Will always pop up for a goal or two

Most underrated aspect of his game is his leading patterns and workrate. I'm sure at the ground you appreciate more the running he does to create an option and he is smart at losing his opponent and cutting angles through a defensive zone.

So happy to see him in the side and playing well. Once Leiws is back I think we'll see him go to another level.

He's quite the character "the Australian deadpool" mouth never stops going.

I swear this could pass for a scene from "We could be heroes", as Ferg reminds me a Chris Lilley character.

Fergus is doing great, wish him the best for the rest of the year.
IMO, he's well & truly over-delivering on what would reasonably have been expected of him coming into the Season.

We'd have seen him as a 3rd Tall type, filling the role in support of a dominant Lewis & a crafty, hard-hitting Kosi - neither of two have existed all season... In their stead, he's presented & contested, turning a sh1t situation into an opportunity.

Great effort, so far. I love it.

He and Tyler are starting to get some really good connection together.
