whats worse ?

Not having $200 or not having $400 ?

If you've made the decision that (1) whatever you're paying for is worth either, (2) the possibility of giving up either is real, and (3) you definitely have $0 at the end of it all...

Then the answer is neither. More accurately, the question is fallacious.

St Kilda can ask "What is better - getting $200 or getting $400?". But thats it.

We've had an obsession with breeding marathon runners with physiques of jockeys, it worked for a long time because the lads had such a high skill level and we beat side with precision ball movement and effectively playing keepings off. The last few years the league has veered back in favour of contested beasts, real brutes and I think that's where we have really struggled.

The recruitment of Jags and Tom was the first step of countering that, I hope we don't feel the need to strip Jags down to a skinny jumps jockey.

Totally agree. Most of the boys who would naturally be strong builds have been stripped down and made to look like they would blow away in a strong wind. It doesn't hurt you when you pick the oppo apart with precision kicking but against some of the power mids and forwards we can get beaten up. That's why I found Lake such a breath of fresh air. There is still a role for key position gorillas.

So much this!

GC wanted everything we had. We were always going to give it. But then we got Mitchell . Then they got snarky, and wanted it packaged differently. Regardless of what we gave up, we were always going to lose what we lost.

It's really GC's loss, and StKilda's win.
(If we re-did the trades, we wouldn't have dealt with StKilda, but GC would take all our shit)

Did anyone else notice the little gulp he took before declaring the latest niggle isn't related to his previous (and major) knee injury?
No, but I did notice how relaxed and happy he looked. He certainly didn't look like a guy that was worried about his knee or career. He looked like a guy that was keen to get back on the field.

They could have at least taken the tape off his knee for the interview.

Hopefully it was the tape that made his knee look nqr in the quick look we got of it.

A glitch in the matrix...

Take the red pill...

All I can say is that I am sort of getting used to Jaeger not being in the selection equation week in & week out. It's gonna be a pleasant surprise whenever he becomes available once again. Watching that interview gave me a subtle reminder of how grounded he is. He'll be back.
