And don't either eagles and demons need to lose the next two games as well? And bombers and saints need to lose at least one. Especially if bullies win this round. And we must win all. Let's face it, it's not gonna happen. If it did, that would almost be a bigger Bradbury finish than.....Bradbury

Edit: spotted this in another thread

The most unlikely thing that needs to happen is Essendon drop a game to either of those sides.

Gold Coast at home this round with Essendon missing Hurley is our best shot.

So Round 23 will be Jaeger's 50th career match?

How many wins has he played in out of the preceding 48? Wouldn't have thought more than 5

Does he know the words to our song?

I think most people know the words to all of the AFL songs except for Gold Coast, GWS and maybe West Coast.

Port
Why do people keep saying this? We need the dogs to lose this week as well against Port in Ballarat (as well as the Eagles to lose their last 2). Dogs will beat Port this week though. Does anyone really expect Port to put up a fight this weekend? They've barely made a whimper against top 8 teams this year and they're not about to start in Baltic conditions in Ballarat.
Port need to win consolidate a home final, if you honestly think they wont turn up despite unfavourable conditions your underrating the teams mentality.

Was surprised to see him named, but 2 successive games at Etihad on a 6 day break will be a good test for JOM's knee. Obviously the medical staff are confident that he is right. Another upside is that one of our lesser lights will get their chance for Box Hill glory.

Same. Not sure I get it. Maybe it gets gives him a taste of the pace of the AFL again? Maybe Clarko knows Jaeger is cherry ripe and wants to sell the HFC brand to prospective trade/free agent targets? Maybe slim finals chances get him a game? All guesses.

Would rather Glass got a couple more under his belt. We already know Jaeger can play at the level. 2 games is meh?
Is he fit to play? Yes
Is he best 22? Yes

Pretty simple I'd have thought.

I'd rather he play 2 games at the higher level and then go off for a big pre-season than beating up on inferior players in a league well below his level.

Finally.

Port have to show up.
Dogs won't win this week IMO only for the fact that they have to win but are still running a hangover from last year.

Don't like it on Etislab. Don't like it at all.

If his knee is going to go again it doesn't matter where we play him, it will go.

But clearly the HFC staff are confident it's not going to go. They have shown time and time again that they get things right when it comes to rehab and I expect this to be no different.

Do we need the dogs to lose this week?

Bit of a stretch I reckon
we need two of dogs, eagles and dees to lose this week to still be in the running, as Dees host the Lions, we should be hoping Port win

Really can't wait to see Jags out there again. I think he'll probably spend a bit of time at half forward where he seems to struggle to be productive, but getting through these last 2 games fit and healthy and not pulling up sore is all we need.

This guy's ceiling isn't decent, it's DEVASTATING. Him becoming one of the best players in the league was such a 'duh' position prior to his injuries. That was almost three years ago now. It would be football injustice for him not to get a clean run at it and not get to his potential.

Port travel pathetically, I can't see to much excitement for them flying over, then jumping on a bus to go to Ballarat (which is like Adelaide anyway) and play in -5 conditions lol.
