Nice pick up guys ! He has good hands and a good footy brain. Its such a shame he wasnt given more oppurtunity at Freo. You have yourselves a rippa !
All the best Meeky :'(

Kosi and Lewis might pinch hit.

You’ve landed a good one here Hawks fans. Sorry to see him go, but glad he’ll get first ruck. Definitely deserves it. Has developed out of sight in the last couple of years and gives you solid tap work and some grunt around the ground. Look after him - he’s a good kid.

Like our other young trade pickup in Cooper Stephens Lloyd doesn't have much competition in his position at the Hawks.

I reckon there is a psychological boost for players when they know they have a good shot of making it into the seniors so hopefully Mr Meeseeks (I'm trademarking that one) can step up and play some good senior footy.

Looks like a serious unit as well, be good to have that size on the ground.

I haven’t seen much of a Meek but if he and reeves can form a great ruck Duo for next year as I don’t think Max Lynch is really going to be able to make it at AFL level with his concussion issues I do hope you prove me wrong. I really really like the look of Ramsden but if we want to stick with Reeves and Meek then I think Ramsden should be developed into a key defender or even forward he is that athletic and gifted but this gives us great options.

Meek is definitely an AFL grade starting ruck, he just hasn't had a solid run at it with Darcy dominating after they both arrived at Freo in the same draft.

He's learnt his ruck craft under Sandilands so he's of good pedigree. Like Darcy, he's more a traditional tap ruckman as he's a massive lad, but his follow up work in play is top notch for a guy his size and is his main point of difference (as per the highlights video above).

Hopefully Mitchell gets the most out of him, he deserves a good crack at it.

Definitely can move, not your slow lumbering type.

Reminds me of past Demon ruckman Jeff White in how he plays / moves.

Welcome back home Marc Pittonet...

What I saw that I liked:
- Generates centre clearances
- Takes a good mark
- Gets involved around the groun
- A big body

What I didn't see:
- Really any high calibre taps to advantage
- His kicking/disposal proficiency.

Not sure on the size, but he does have two of them, which puts him equal first for number of hands at he club!
I do still get an odd little thrill when I'm quoted 15 years after something I said ;)

Ned Reeves is an absolute lock in one ruck position and Lynch is there also as well as the big Ram. So there’s a fair bit of competition as far as rucks go. That said I think he should be surpassing Lynch if all things go well.

Good footy iq, big hands and the size of a fridge but has some wheels, sounds like everything you need in a long term ruck!

It’s the footy IQ that you don’t often get in the big units that may be the biggest bonus, all the long term rucks seem to have quite good footy iq and they just keep getting better with age

I like the look of him as an aggressive big body in the centre square
Will help our young midfielders
Takes a good grab too

I like that he is completely different to Reeves, so we have a bit of flexibility during games

Welcome big fella
