Probably not since the 90's.. Some names of "great" recruits that spring to mind; Jurica, Danilchenko, Sharkey....
I was optimistic when we got him across. Now I'm well and truly off the bus. I'm hoping that if his head and his heart are truly not in football at the required level, that he retires now and focusses on the future outside football. This would let us move on, and at least we don't spend the money on his second year.
If he stays, I hope he isn't a distractive sideshow to our very promising rebuild. I'd love to say that he could be important next year, but sadly I just can't see it happening.

He would surely have absolutely no value to anyone other than us. He's already on the list, get behind him and see how he goes after a 2nd year.

Except his entire career has followed this pattern. He was given a second chance to redeem himself at Hawthorn and absolutely nothing changed. Which, for those of us who followed his career at Richmond, was entirely predictable. It was an unbelievably 'optimistic' signing and the sooner it ends the better.

Barely holding a spot at BHH. Too far gone to ever come good and should be used as a ruck bag next year rather than taking the place of an up and comer at BH.
