I was optimistic when we got him across. Now I'm well and truly off the bus. I'm hoping that if his head and his heart are truly not in football at the required level, that he retires now and focusses on the future outside football. This would let us move on, and at least we don't spend the money on his second year.

If he stays, I hope he isn't a distractive sideshow to our very promising rebuild. I'd love to say that he could be important next year, but sadly I just can't see it happening.

Second year costs us cap space regardless whether he's on our list is how I understand FA recruitments

Bad timing for him
Who would have thought Roughy would play every game and TOB would come on so quickly and Big Boy would step up

I've said this before, but I hope we keep him.

He would surely have absolutely no value to anyone other than us. He's already on the list, get behind him and see how he goes after a 2nd year.

Anyone can have a horrid 12 months. He may just need a break and a 2nd crack at it.

Sure he's never reached any great heights thus far in his career but I'm still on board.

Except his entire career has followed this pattern. He was given a second chance to redeem himself at Hawthorn and absolutely nothing changed. Which, for those of us who followed his career at Richmond, was entirely predictable. It was an unbelievably 'optimistic' signing and the sooner it ends the better.
