Prestia and Lynch are going to be more valuable for leadership from here than any on field performance. Hopefully Lynch can get his body right to 100 games as the genetics should be decent šŸ˜‚

TT and Hopper are perfect to protect whoever we draft as mids.

I'm worried Balta might bolt as a FA.
Balta ainā€™t going anywhere
My work colleague is close mates with him
Absolutely bleeds yellow and black, loyal as they come

sigh..... lets have 1 more go at offering a solution

The best thing Adem, or at least SOMEONE (wink wink Benny) at the Club could do is come out and just openly speak about where we are at.

"After the most successful period in the clubs history, we need to be prepared for a time of re-adjustment as we replenish not just the list, but several different area's of the club. After the glory of the 2020 flag & the disasterous 2nd half of 2021 we really thought that we could possible get the team up for "One Last Dance" as Dimma put it. That was re-enforced from what we felt was a very competitive year in 2022, where we believed we were a "decision or 2" away in the EF to getting back to the G & who knows what happens from there.

Unfortunately as many Richmond people know from years past, fairytales like this can often not work out the way you planned or wanted.

But we are a strong, proud club who has faced adversity before & as before, we will rebuild, regroup and be back. As a club, we have made some errors. As a club, we have been disappointed with & caught off-guard at certain times with some unexpected exits - some of which were out of our control, others perhaps we could have controlled better. Some were completely unavoidable as footy is a tough game and can be very unforgiving on not just your body, but your heart & mind. Watching the Cats in 2022 hold up that Cup with Selwood, Hawkins, Dangerfield is what we dreamed for our boys. Sometimes the war is a battle of attrition. Footy can be a tough game.

But we ask our members to stick with us & come along for the ride, once again. We have seen a series of generational greats depart over the past few years. Trent, Jack, Shane, Bachar, Kane, David & at years end we will likely see 1 or 2 more, sadly join them. But for those of us that have been here a long long time, we also remember that these greats first came here as young men. For years Shane Edwards was known as Titch, due to his lack of size & strength, before he became Shane Edwards, the 3 times Premiership hero. Trent himself had a period where he doubted himself as a leader, before becoming the greatest captain this club has ever had. Jack was once ridiculed as a selfish forward who only played for himself, before he become a Brandon Flowers impersonator. And as we all know, for a short time their Dimma floated the idea of trading Alex, before he became known as one of the greatest backmen to play the game. And we all can recall the path required to be walked, before Dustin became the most successful finals player, & Tiger, in AFL history. We are sure that with enough time and new blood coming through the club, we can emulate that success, but as it did last time - it will take time"

What we desperately need at the moment is some honesty & a declaration that an era has ended to allow a new one to genuinely start. Until we do, we are just in suspended animation, achieving nothing.

Personally, i don't think this is Adems job. This is what Benny should be doing. It's not Adems job to sign off on a great era to allow a new one to be introduced. With Benny half way out the door, this is a no brainer & I am stunned he has not done it yet tbh.
To be fair the last comment Benny made before taking the Tassie millions was we want to be like the scats always in contention, iirc that was when Hardwick quit/sacked whatever

He's already in talks on a new deal.

Very vocal and passionate out on the track and is apparently developing as a future leader for the younger boys.

"Tassie millions" lol. Benny wouldn't be getting paid much more if any to go to Tassie.

He's just been in the job for a long time and wants a new challenge. Not sure why people want to take shots at him for that, as if he's betraying us to leave, especially after everything he's given us.

Mate heā€™s working for the AFL now , look at their Annual report they are being paid more than the players , so yes itā€™s Tassie millions

Thank god. We are ****ed if he leaves.
Not a whole lot better if he stays if you believe some opinions regarding how poor our list is

The team would be performing better too if the gameplan wasnā€™t so dogshit, itā€™s horrendous football

The players make the gameplan look dogshit, not the other way around.

Yes and again why does he continue to play them as the injury excuse is dead now? Smith has been available all year to replace Short and it hasn't happened. Trezise could easily have replaced KMAC OR Broad last week, yet he starts as sub. Green and Banks adjusted well for a full game and came on strong. Bauer needs to come in next week to replace KMAC as a proper forward as he was terrible letting the ball run out with Ryan. Ryan is lucky he has a ruck role and still gets a gig.

Our list this season wouldn't be capable of performing to any decent game plan.
There really isn't a game plan , but a simple chip chip in BL and then bomb down the line and say a Hail Mary. It's bc we have a slow dog shit poorly skilled team and we can't transition the ball clean and fast enough , so we try and play safe rugby style footy.

I tell you what I do hate and that's our kick outs, chip to the pocket then bang it to the wing. Other clubs seem to get out of our forwardline with ease.

Shits me no end lol

There is always a game plan,

Its not Auskick, coaches donā€™t just send them out and say ā€œHave fun boysā€.

If it appears there is no plan its because its not being executed properly, whether thats due to cattle or coaches not making it clear enough/making it overcomplicated.

I recall earlier in the season there was confusion among the playing group regarding the game plan, whether its because we havent had a consistent team on the park or because of poor communication.

I explained our game plan. I didnā€™t mean no game plan in a sense, but I donā€™t rate it
I can see why heā€™s using it bc we are a slow and poorly skilled team.

Why are you telling me this? I get it completely.

Thats exactly what i have said. This is not a case of "1 piece" not working - the whole ****ing machine needs a service. The team, the coaching team, the medical team, the off-field leadership - the whole thing is not operating anything near what it was in the dynasty. We have slipped right back to the standards we had pre that. I have said this many times before, often at length
The reason Iā€™m saying is youā€™re carrying on like a pork chop , the single biggest factor is that we havenā€™t replaced 300g triple premiership legends with like performing players
Yea , that fact is incontrovertible
So you dont then draw the conclusion that the whole club is ****ed , our list is but the whole club isnā€™t

I chortle that the most vocal arenā€™t even paying members so , you can blow your opinion into a bag fwiw
While the rest of us make cool well considered measured decisions

Someone with common sense ;) hard for a game plan to work with so many changes per week. Only selected few can see this.

Interesting.
Ben Griffiths went down in round 2, for the last time. Assume thatā€™s who you mean.
Yes, they created a system to revolve around the attributes of the players at hand. Castagna, Butler and Rioli pushing up the ground then charging back (not new). One ruck with Grigg as back up is true also.
A number of ideas developed by the match committee over the year (and years prior).
Itā€™s funny that a narrative keeps popping up that it wasnā€™t Hardwick. Like who would know?
Rubbish as they did a complete review and overhauled the whole FD. They wouldn't have bothered with such changes and costs if Dimma and the existing staff were on track. Delusional post
