But Kelly left a Geelong team, which finished minor premiers that year and was beaten by us in a prelim, and went onto play in the GF th enext year.
Ours are bolting when we are dead last.

Not sure what Ralph means by that? So is he saying other Richmond players believe Bolton is selfish? by "he ran his own race"? or that Yze doesn't have a clear game plan?

The rumour going around a while ago was that Bolton was a massive campaigner at the club this year.

Well then good riddance when he gets traded to Fremantle where he will become their problem. While a gifted player I think at times he takes the selfish option to benefit himself rather than the team. I only hope we can extract maximum value from the Dockers in the trade.

And if he thinks he is going to win a premiership with Fremantle, he's dreaming.

9 and 10 is not enough for bolton imho

I think it was more a case of some our senior players having played the 'Hardwick' way so many years couldn't or didn't want to change or invest enough of themselves into a new coach and be part of the rebuild. Hence the disconnection within the team and why a few have requested to be traded. There were some players that actually got better as the year went on, two examples are HRS and Mansell.

When you leave for selfish reasons e.g. my current team won’t likely win a flag for 5 years so I won’t to go to a team more likely to, you will hardly say that is your reason for leaving. So you say family reasons (if that makes sense) and/or the game plan was no good etc.

So I wouldn’t place too much weight on his stated reasons for leaving.
