Lobb just wants to play AFL. He was stuck in the VFL behind Marra, Naughton and Darcy who are superior players. If I were him I'd have been looking at my options too. He's in the twilight of his career and he doesn't want to spend that time as a backup player in the seconds. Now that he's locked down a spot in the AFL side I doubt he still wants to leave. Why would he? He's playing great footy and the team is performing well now.

Club policy that a couple of random BF posters sit in on each exit interview. Lobby's was standing room only by the time I got there though, but I didn't recognise any other posters as everyone is issued with a Bevo mask before entering the room. Everyone kept shifting uncomfortably and looking at me though, and it wasn't until the interview was over and we all left the room that I realised some joker had given me a Kane Cornes mask instead!

Been a long time since I've seen a bloke go from villain to hero so quickly. I was at the best and fairest and nobody got the ovation that he got, and that includes departing players, it includes the coach or the skipper.

I too was stoked for him. But it was the the outside footy world, especially the media who were down on him. All my Bulldog mates understood what he did in 2023 was good, but not everything went his way. It was the media again over emphasising one moment this year and a match committee that wasn’t giving him a go. He was trying and was going really well in the VFL, even though he wasn’t getting selected. His ruck work seemed better than Timmy’s, but around the ground not quite as good and we all know how Bevo doesn’t rate real ruck work?
