Out of contract at the end of the year you reckon we can get a first rounder for him???

The one where he did two downy argues then slipped over but fired the handball over his head to Tucker running past.

It was a little…Kepler
Similar gait too.. hahaha

Seriously though he is the best trade in this season. There's daylight between him and the next player now. The man refuses to be tackled!

I just find it baffling that Dew and the entire Gold Coast management structure looked at him and somehow went "Nah, let's keep Rowell and his 50-year-old knees and hamstrings killing himself at the bottom of every pack, let's keep forcing Touk to do everything and let's clear cap space to bring in Chol and Casboult to form the competion's most "meh" forwardline. Meeting adjourned."

They are a basket case

Quite easily, but he is contracted until the end of 2024 so I'd rather keep him.

You can see why he was in discussion for pick #1 in 2016.

I’d agree but considering GC have provided us our #1 and #2 all time best trade deals, I can’t bring myself to say anything bad about them.

God damn what a turn of fortune for us. Would we have gone after him if Cerra didn’t leave?
He’s already part of the furniture at Freo
Nope - Cerra leaving freed up a lot of cash …we had reportedly offerred 3 million over 4 years.

Cerra going was a bit of a domino ….it allowed us to absorb $400K of the 600k salary for Brodie this year. Gold Coast paying 200k this year is overlooked.

So not only did this move (& Cerra) get us Brodie, Amiss & Johnson in - it most likely contributed to us using the extra cash to sign extensions on Erasmus, Walker & Johnson to add an additional 2 years. Plus we squared away Clark & Brodie on longer term deals.

Finally you’d think we could now make a nice offer to Acres who is deserving of a pay rise and hopefully sign Logue as we still have somewhat of a war chest from Cerra.

It is simply a master stroke ( a tad lucky too) - the magnificent play of Brodie isnt now just a cherry on top - it’s a whole new tier of cake upon tiers of cake.

LOLLOLOLOL, THEY ARE LITERALLY PAYING PART OF HIS SALARY AS WELL!!!!

We must ensure GC are allowed to continue for as long as humanely possible, I'm again reminded of the Simpsons

When your parents (ie the AFL) have deep pockets, what incentive is there for being a good money manager? None.

As soon as the AFL stop subsidizing the club, their money acumen would improve. I’ve seen plenty of rich, spoiled kids have similar lack of money management skills.

Can you post this in my David Walls thread please

This may sound very harsh, but I never saw the need for Gold Coast Football Club to begin with. I mean, if they were to be dissolved tomorrow, would anyone blink an eye?
