I know it's a weak draft but I think all fully fit the best draft class side would beat this w/afl lineup. If anyone playing today was drinking last night for me it's an automatic delist. Breach of contract would probably get over the line.

B Williams best ruck on the ground. Clarke did ok. Not much else to like. I havnt looked at stats but that is just from watching.

But yeah, drop/delist the veterans and play these absolute spuds every week instead.

Absolutely putrid depth coming through (and straight or the door).
The bottom line is that the old guys, even though they offer more than the putrid youth, are not going to be with us much longer anyway. We were crap this year, and with basically the same list (only a year older and slower), we will be even crapper next year.

We've recruited poorly, we've developed poorly, we've extended contracts when we shouldn't have, we've overpaid to get players, we've overpaid ($) to keep players, we've not traded out players when generous offers have come along and so on.

No matter which choice of the
1 - get rid of the oldies and play the putrid youth, or
2 - keep the oldies for a year or so and hope they stay fit enough to get on the paddock and offer the occasional glimpse of past glories,
we are looking at a sustained period of Freo level mediocrity.

We need to fix the WAFL team so that it can become a proper development squad re game plan and so on. Other clubs (about 17 of them at last count) have reserve teams in second tier competitions. And it works for them.
That's not going to suddenly make our AFL team competitive, but it'll help.

Hewett with 20 possessions and a goal against West Perth. Not a bad effort.
I left at 3/4 time and I hear he did well in the last quarter but he was fairly average before that.
Slow to move the ball, not great decision making with ball in hand, set his teammates up to get crunched a couple of times with poor disposal.
Just kind of jogged around off the ball.
Dunno, I just don't see anything that special with him, certainly not someone I'd take inside pick 10

Sad read these last few pages, how embarrassing to draft wardlaw or Cheezels if they have to play a game with our WAFL side!

A game?? If they aren’t crippled and out for the year by round 1 they will spend 3/4 of the year in the wafl as the pensioners have to have their midfield time
