At least we know when we want to be we're not completely ****ing shit.

Closer game then the score suggested though. If we can play like this next week, Richmond don't stand a chance.

Geelong's class and fitness just came into it in this last term. The likes of Stokes and Byrnes finding plenty of space late in the game.

Reckon we've earned a lot of respect here. Most outsiders would have expected 100+ point loss.

Purely and simply, we kick better, and we win this game. In front of goals and around the ground.

We ran the lines well, Sheppard in particular really broke things open, and our use by hand was very good. Dominated clearances I assume, dominated ruck knocks, beat their defenders in most contested situations.

Unfortunately poor use in the midfield gave them turnover opportunities which resulted in a number of quick goals which equal the margin plus some.

Happy with McKinleys game:thumbsu: and didn't mind stevenson but he does seem to just chuck it on the boot sometimes.

Good effort and intensity but geez, woeful disposal and turnovers galore as per usual - I guess that's what happens when you spend the pre-season kicking tennis balls.

Was it though? Ebert had 2 good chances on goal in the last and sprayed both, he kicks them and we have momentum and we go on to win. As it stands he ****ed up again and we go on to lose the game

this was a game of lost chances again due to poor skills and poor execution, and our current midfield of slow one paced ****wits with poor skills (Ebert i'm looking at you) cost us yet again

I think we tired at the very end. But credit to the boys, they never gave up.

Within 3 points in the last.

A bit more experience, a bit more conditioning and we will run those games out.

Overall the players tried hard and looked to take the game on. Skills got bad in the last quarter though.

Main criticism is that Worsfold didn't seem to put anyone on to Chapman to stop him. Again displaying his lack of reactive ability in the coaching box. In fact I have no idea who was on Chapman at all.

Proud of the boys tonight, Had a massive crack against the best side in the comp and just came up short. :(

Hopefully we take some confidence from this match and build on it. :thumbsu:

A few points;

1) Gotta make a quick mention of Ben McKinley.

last year, and maybe 2008 he had no second efforts, but watching him throughout tonight, he was the only guy going as hard at it in the last as he was in the first. Big ups for his defensive work.

2) 1.4 to Ebert and the one he kicked was the checkside. Go figure.

3) Sheppard is a very good footballer already. Can't wait for him to get better.

4) Beau Waters should be made captain right now. He may have had a few turnovers, but they're more than made up for each and every time he puts his body on the line. 33 possessions and 17 marks shows he is the beating heart of our team.

5) Don't tell me there's no such thing as an honourable loss. I was dreading the thought of watching this game. Had we played like we did last week, a repeat of the 135-point thrashing in 2008 would be on the cards.

19th man is pretty handy for Geelong.

Umpires bouncing the ball straight to Geelong for 2 goals.
Makes up for the end of the second quarter when West Coast put it on the full but played on for a goal.

Always swings and roundabouts with the umpires.

Has it occurred to you that putting a tag on someone does not automatically mean they suddenly stop? Good players can beat a tag. Great players can beat multiple tags.

Why do you assume that WC just decided to let Chapman run around?

i think alot of people are forgetting we lost two runners before the end of the third in butler and selwood which hurt rotations which effects everyones kicks which may help explain some of the turn overs. in saying that i think if ebert and lecca had kicked a few of those oppurtunities we may have won.
kids in the middle are getting better wasnt a full strength cats side though
but well done to the boys and hopefully we can destroy richmond
