West Coast's plodder midfield - will it work?

Haters gotta hate. Eagles fans are no different from any club, some just don't have the IQ to see a great player and focus on the negative too much. The Priddis Debate thread is a war zone between the Pro Priddis team versus the haters. Gets pretty heated in there at times.

Priddis years ago did struggle with decision making and his kicking, over te last 4 or so years he has really improved both. This year his job is easier still, handball to Mitchell, or Shuey or Gaff.......that's it.:D

It's like the Suban debate for us - except suban is actually nowhere near as good as priddis. Both hard workers, but priddis gets it done

I love it how people just assume Judd is better due to;
Being Victorian
Media salivating over him for a decade
Playing for Carlton in a rubbish era
Being a pin up boy and being quite conformist

Goodes was also Victorian

Judds best was far more damaging that good. Judd unfortunately didn't have the support at the blues to be as dynamic as he was once was but he was still up there with best during his stay at the blues.

But back on point. Eagles desperately need Yeo to pull his finger out and i suspect both him and wellingham will run through the middle. Duggans someone who has pace and can rack up a bit in the middle as showed in his first few games in 2015.

People don't assume anything, anyone who watched both players at their peak could tell you judd's best was better, he and Ablett were in a league of their own.

If race had anything to do with it Buddy wouldn't be rated as high as he is.

Whereas Goodes;
Well him being offended by being racially abused seemed to turn everyone against him because the country is full of bigots.
Not this again......it was how he handled it pointing at the young girl and then the dance he did to rile up the Carlton supporters. He's a hypocrite

You got to have guys who can run with some of the burst mids - Treloar, Shiel, Dangerfield, Steven. Shuey is a guy just like that, although he's probably looking to attack more than defend.

The Mitchell and Priddis combination will be interesting but they both read the play well and have great lateral movement and follow the ball in close. I don't think they'll get exploited from a stoppage. Sheed is another who I think can use his height and move in close. Goes ok at half forward as well.

Masten seems to run a wing most of the time doesn't he? Interesting player. Looks like an inside mid but plays more like an outside mid. He's ok. Gaff is obviously very good. Jetta is an unknown.

Hutchings or Redden could really be an important player in the overall speed and effectiveness of the midfield group. They'll probably be the one given the defensive duties on the oppositions best player and it will be there ability to keep up at stoppages and around the ground that will impact whether the Eagles get burnt the other way or not. The Hawks have always used Liam Shiels in a similar way. Mitchell, Hodge, Lewis etc would hunt the ball and/or protect their side of the stoppage and Shiels would be on duty minding the other teams gun.
