Bangladesh have won the toss and have opted to field

Think Brathwaite might be not long for the test team. Can barely get the ball off the square since that hundred in Australia two summers ago.

Louis closing in on a maiden test tonne despite, in true West Indian fashion, our best attempt at self sabotage earlier with a top order test cricket run out. Good recovery from these two

No front line spinners for the Windies but two for Bangladesh. What gives? Warrican was sublime against South Africa. Alzarri surely hasn't warranted a recall just yet?

He served his ban and they’ve opted out of Holder with Greaves presumably filling his spot as the all rounder type

It is strange that we haven’t gone with a specialist spinner, I guess they assume hodge can do enough if the quicks can’t; we will see I guess

Maiden test half century for Greaves, off 88 balls with just two boundaries: says a lot about how good his placement and innings pacing was. He has some serious ability and technique this guy and it’s bizarre watching him that he hasn’t done more with it. You could show a picture of his forward defence and argue that it’s as good as Kallis

Great century from greaves and only four boundaries. Really sensible technical knock, and great support as always from roach who is genuinely our best tailender probably since Marshall if you could call Marshall a tailender. As bishop was saying on the coverage, as a tailender he’s not always going to be equipped to actually do it, but he ALWAYS tries to do EXACTLY what the situation requires of him

If Greaves can average around 30 with the bat and chip in with the odd wicket from time to time (or if the other bowlers keep it together more often than not) is Jason Holder going to be permanently on the outer at test level?

Bit early to call that but it'd be good for the Windies to uncover some consistent batsman.

Holders bowling since he returned to the side was noticeably ineffective and with Shemar Joseph’s emergence and Jayden Seales’ ongoing excellence that looks to be two spots that will be gone all the time if they’re fit and they love Alzarri as well.

He might find it tough

Another sort of attritional day but decent enough for the hosts, probably would have liked to have things done and dusted by now but will be hoping to finish Bangladesh off early tomorrow and a lead of 175-180, hopefully smack a quick 200 and leave 4 sessions to bowl them out. I have a suspicion we will regret not picking a spinner, though.

Bangladesh declared overnight? How does that make any sense ? Like seriously how can anyone justify that in cricket terms ?

Realistically the only way they could win the test was to bowl West Indies out as quickly and cheaply as possible and it very nearly worked; they could have had us two down in the first couple of overs if they reviewed and caught properly and as it was we were 3-39 or something anyway.

Even when it was all said and done we were bowled out for 150 and they were still some mathematical hope of winning the game and the early declaration probably ultimately helped that, strange though it was.

Good to see us drop not one, but 4 catches off Shamar Joseph.

Have to admire them trying to make a game of it. Given the Windies barely made it to 150 you'd say the thinking and execution was sound however the batsman on the hand....

The one thing that is genuinely admirable about Bangladesh in 95 per cent of their cricket is their positivity. It’s very rare to see them just play meandering cricket, really.

Well with Bangladesh now needing 225 runs required in the last day, West Indies should now wrap it up but one couldnt help think if Bangladesh had eeked out possibly another 30-35 runs, chasing 190 on the last day with still a fair amount of overs, and had they possibly had 5 wickets in hand, could have been a bit of a different story.

Personally, I would have kept batting but each to their own. Alot can happen in 90 overs in a day.
