Western Bulldogs - worst 2nd placed team ever?

Yes you can, hence he won them not as captain and why Hirdy won a couple as captain as well.

Come on snaggy, think a bit more next time. Lloydy doesn't have to win any best and fairests, he just has to captain the side and he does a fantastic than 'give it to me Team Johnson'.

Oh you can add a premiership and a couple of colemans to that as well, how many of them as Team Johnson won?

You got it wrong again Coleman, Johnno has captained the Dogs into the Finals,& has been recognised for his outstanding leadership by being made AA captain.

Poor Lloydy, has led the Bumbers to 12th position last year & probably 12th again this year.. now thats a great effort.....not to mention his sad lack of form for most of 2008.

Cheers Coleman,

You will get it right one day, hopefully!!!!!!!!!

Cheers Mate,

You cannot believe what your saying.

But not bad style this time round. :thumbsu:

Thread should be renamed to worst top 8 team ever. What a joke, complete pretenders.

But what do you know, their opponents next week suffer injuries to four key players (Hille, Fletcher, Slattery and Dempsey) to add to about 15 players already ruled out. Curse of the Bradburys strikes again.

Will love watching them get absolutely humiliated in September. Wonder if being exposed in finals as total frauds will be enough to wipe that stupid smile off Johnson's face?

I would prefer to be humiliated in September, than to not be there at all.:p

Luckily for you, humiliation in September and the Bulldogs go hand in hand.

Haven't made a grand final since 1961.

1974 - Made the finals, only to lose the elimination final to Collingwood by 69 points.
1976 - Lost the elimination final to Geelong by seven points.
1985 - Finish 2nd in the home and away season, but lose the qualifying final by 93 points, win the 1st semi by 30 points, before losing in the preliminary final by 10 points.
1992 - Finish 2nd again, but lose the qualifying final by 61 points, win the 1st semi by 29 points, before losing the prelim by 64 points.
1994 - Finish 5th, but go out in straight sets, losing the qualifying final by 5 points, before Garry Lyon bags a lazy 10 as Melbourne thump the Dogs by 79 points.
1995 - Finish 7th, and get bundled out in the first week of the finals by an Ablettless Geelong side to the tune of 82 points.
1997 - Probably their best finals performance of modern times, as they beat Sydney by 35 points in the qualifying final, only to go down by 2 points in the preliminary final.
1998 - Thump West Coast by 70 points before getting smacked by 68 points in the preliminary final.
1999 - Another straight sets exit, being beaten by an Eagles side who limped into the finals by 5 points, before Brisbane put them out of their misery, winning the semi by 53 points.
2000 - Another finals loss, this time by 34 points to Brisbane.
2006 - Beat Collingwood by 41 points, before getting slaughtered by 74 points against the Eagles.

Therefore, since their last grand final appearance, the Dogs have played in 20 finals, for 5 wins and 15 losses, at an average losing margin of 46 points. 20 finals in 46 years? Pathetic!

Good try. Pity 1897 was a round robin, and there was no grand final. But even then, we've lost 7 grand finals, and won 7. Bulldogs have played in 2 in their entire history.

Na sorry, official records say: Lost 8 won 7
under 50%

Check your history books. According to the AFL Season Guide 2008...

1897 - Unfortunately there was no grand final as such. All eight teams in the competition played each other twice in the home and away season, and the top four teams - Geelong, Essendon, Melbourne and Collingwood - met each other in a round robin series. Each side played three 'finals' and there was no grand final as we know it today.

But let's look at it another way, shall we?

Grand finals since 1925

Geelong: 14
Bulldogs: 2

:p:D

That's funny limp dick, cos I watched the demons from the safety of my television yesterday and sat there as unimpressed as you were! :thumbsu:

Well thanks for pointing out we are crap, I really didn't know that.

How low can the Doggies go? They have been awful since Aka's handstand.

SP must be laughing behind his red card.

Clearly you are afraid of our powerful top four team Guzzldicks!!!!!

Take the bet!

I guess it's because you support Essendon - worst 12th place team ever
