Re: Western Region Football League team

I can tell you they have signed Ryan Wooley from Doutas, Adam Swadiak returns from Doutas, Jesse Wells from the Bulldogs and his brother and apparently a ruckman from Werribee.

Sebastian Arena is staying but only because the club refused to clear him from the last year of his contract. But i can tell you he is not the biggest fan of the new coach, so will be intersting to see how he goes.

Tonna has signed at Albury or somewhere up that way, Ash Craig to Northcote park, Tent Zantuck back to Noosa, Simon O'Keefe has left, Mark Oxnam, Matt Draga and Jeff Fraser have also left.

Saints still need a few more new players yet before we can consider them a threat.
Tonna will move to albury after xmas and play with wang? mark oxnam broke his leg last year and with his work commitments has retired, matt draga has also struggled with injuries and retired, jeff frazier is still unsure and will proberly retire. zantuck is in QLD with family and will decide after xmas if he is going to stay he may also be working overseas next year. unsure of o'keefe"s movements. ash craig has been talking to a lot of clubs looking for high bidder might even be going to auction, doubt whether he will be back. Dont need to worry about arena's attitude.
dont know about all those signings though are they confirmed?

Re: Western Region Football League team

does anyone have any news about parkside, will they be strong or will they drop off

saul is having an operation on his ankle, nothing serious but he won't be playing in darwin any more but he'll be sweet for the start of the season

Re: Western Region Football League team

we can all stand the by the van rehydrate!
Plenty of time in the future to stand near the van and im sure allot of us will be, but at the moment will were red hot we need to win more flags and beat that Braybrook record of flags in a row, maybe rain is the only thing that can stop the Colts??????? ha ha

also massive rumor l heard that Rock07 is hanging up the Big Footy boots on the last day of the year, heard that his young family is suffering they go out anymore. life now is just about work, footy and BF. I think the wife has threaten to leave the Big Red head, very sad news.

Fair list the mighty Saints if they gel sound like they will be there abouts, they will take the spot of Parkside in the 5 l think. Ash Craig from what l seen this year l didn't think much of him for a small forward he doesn't seem to work hard enough and makes his opponents job allot easier, around what figure was he on and whats he asking? l know allot of other players from the WRFL l would prefer over him.

Boys who are the young up and comers at your club

Colts
Matthew Bellingham(18), James Turnball(19), Bryce Critch(20), Mulligan(18), Lewis Pitchford(20)
These young blokes are all capable of playing seniors and have some are vvying for the same spot but all very good players.

i was told the ankle required a reco and he was going to be rehabing for a while.
great to hear it is not that bad and he will be right to go for start of season.

great topic, juniors are a good place to look for recruits.
st.albans
michael spooner(18),nathen tieppo(18),travis edwards(19),michael agius(20),riza balla(19),danny lysat(20) tim jenkins(18) all played a few games last year if they all stay and work hard should be handy over the next few years dawson and pisa are both under 22.
there is a couple who played 18's last year who might get a few games
and a few promising ones the year after(maybe this year if they go alright) unless they go to higher level.
i would imagine spotty would have a good group after there 4 flags in row in u18's

Re: Western Region Football League team

Sunshine young players to watch out for in 07:
Josh Linton (20) Jess McInneny (20) Cory Connor (20) Mitch Ellis (19) Daniel Glowacki (19) Aaron Batty (19) Joe Hedditch (19) Nathan Richardson (18) all have played senior football last year.

Spooner would be the pick of the bunch there, didnt know Pissa was that young hes been around for a while very good player is a bit of a barometer down the saints when in the middle. Thought it was funny when we played them this year and he was starting on the ball even asked him and he didnt know l think St Albans will just improve witha coach that has a clue Pagan made some very funny decsions when we played them.

Sunshine have some quality youth there ive heard people talk aboutHeddutch and Ellis did Glowacki play ones this year and l think you forgot yourself. Sunshine would want to make the most of the good mix of youth and senior footballers they have before time passes them.

Hoppers have some great youth in Williams who l rate highly and will only get better with more games hes a skillful and tough player, you have Miles who runs all day and breaks tackles and plays the wing beautifully, then Murphy who is the pick of the bunch also breaks tackles and runs and finishes very well, and theres number 30 very good player plays tall and kicks goals and then Montebruno does miss when kicking for goal, they have some great youth Hoppers if they stick around.

Re: Western Region Football League team

Colts have some quality juniors. Matty B, quality bloke and a gun when hes switched on... think Bryce should have played more this year, and Brennan is still young and already a superstar of the league... is Turnball back at colts? imagine when u get Twomey and Sutcliffe back...
Hoppers have Matty Ryan, quality footballer who doesnt get beaten one on one, Kaine Williams can do some freaky things but inconsistent, Crowder is a solid kep position player too.
We have some quality young blokes, Connor is a dead set gun, hes only 20 and has played seniors for 4 years already. Ellis is another one, won the 2s best and fairest... in and under midfielder, just needs to work on his disposal. Glowacki, i rate him big time... so hard to man up on, can play forward, back or midfield... just needs a bit of confidence. Jess Mac is only gonna get better, talls take longer to develop and when hes on he is very hard to stop. Hedditch played a few games this year, very versatile... hard at it, and great set of hands. also quinny, really proved this year how good he is... first year of senior footy and dominated in the middle, classy, skilful and tough as they come.
Spotty have some good young guys but dont seem to puish them. there 2s side in the finals was very young and they had a bit of success. Prob about time these guys played ones!

just a few,
Billy will give all the young blokes a good crack at it if they do the work.
spooner did very well in his first full year always finished up with a few goals, needs to work on his defensive side, hopefully he wont have to be the main target next year.

I can tell you that Kolyinuik is not the super coach everyone may think he is. During his time at Doutas his assistant (Brian Grey) was the brains behind the whole operation. Brian would address the players at every interval and he was the one making all the moves during the game. Kolinuik's communication skills are totally atrocious and i'm tipping by round 5 all the players will be sick of him swearing at them, yelling at them and abusing them. He is by far the worst communicator i have ever known for a senior coach. And at St Albans he doesn't have Brian Grey to help him because he is now the senior coach at Douta's.

kolyinuik has trouble stringing together more than one sentence in a row hence he reverts back to what he does best swear and carry on like a goose players wear very thin of it as i no i did, not a great bloke to be the head of ur team there are definatly better about.maybe ryan i am the greatest ever sports person to grace the planet woolley could help him as he doesnt seem to have trouble letting fly with his big sprays from behind a computer screen ! so really that makes 2 blokes down there who think there s hit dont stink and r better than the rest ! interesting times a head for st albans !!

I heard Arena wanted out cause when he played with Kolyinik a few years ago he would carry on and speak to players like sh it, didnt he leave the Bulldogs on sour terms? Anyway he couldnt be any worse than Pagan and did help Douttas be strong again so he has done something right

Re: Western Region Football League team

too early to tell yet , not many at training just depends on who stays and if get any new players

It must be a real concern for Parkside trying to recruit new players at this time of year. One would have thought most of the quality players looking for a new club or some extra coin would have been snapped up by now.

2nd last to 2nd within 2 years is such bad coaching i cant believe Doutas kept him so long, didnt Brain Grey come to the club with Billy,if telling players exactly were there at is a problem then Billy will struggle although it might be exactly what st.albans need.

you seem to have some attraction to Billy robbo07 whats that 10 posts now about him you must be one the players he swore at.

Why would we watch out for Nathan Richardson at Sunshine next year????
He has been training down with the Yarra-Seddon eagles all pre season and looks set to join them.

Fair point you make there crackatinny as his Dad is the reserves coach isn't he ???

Re: Western Region Football League team

He should come home to North Footscray. This is where he played his best football and where his mates are. Three clubs in three years for a kid is not good for him.

I hear that his dad wont let him.
He does eveything his dad says. He should start to make up his own decisions about footy and start to enjoy it a bit more.

Re: Western Region Football League team

HAHA, I only added him to the list because he played a game of senior footy although he never should of even if it was against Seddon. Its goin to be bad times for Yarra-Seddon if his old man is coaching, he is a terrible coach and expect to see them bottom of the ladder. Richo has made a bad move there goin back to a club where his old man has an involvement, he was a dud at Nth Footscray under the coaching of his old man and was really starting to improve with Sunshine. Oh well wouldn't have played seniors at sunshine this year as the on-ball brigade is way too strong.
