Congrats to Rusty. Gun player and a good bloke from what I know. It was a good night and made even better watching Crackers on the dance floor by himself!

Do they have all the vote getters anywhere? They used to have a list of everybody who got votes.

How the F_CK does Bones get personality of the year?Isn't this the same bloke who coached StAlbans and ordered the players to run through West Footscray in a final prior to the commencement of the game?

North Footscray awarded Club of the Year, did they win a premiership?Did they receive any awards at all. This award seems to be a bit of a joke, how is a club measured to be the club of the year, must be someone there putting out for the League.

Re: Western Region Football League team

The thread has certainly dropped off a little post the grand Final. I guess that is to be accepted I suppose.

Here's one to get you going. With all clubs vying for the services of the great one- Chris Judd it seems the Colts may be the front runner.

The champ was seem knocking back yaga-bombs last weekend with his good mate Torren Bonnett at a St Kilda night Club.

Its looks like pay cuts all round in order to squeeze him into thier salary cap?? Perhaps they can get him a job on the Wharf??

Would be more of a match winner than the duo of Caddy and Clarke who once again had very ordinary Grand Final's,some how the Juddster won't be playing at Port Melbourne next year.

FYI i played ok last year without kicking many goals however agree i was shocking this year but again caddy was ordinary last year although the delivery to him was not very good however this year he played ok kicked 3 with a strained hammy and also set up a couple of shots but yea your right who would want two blokes that have both kicked 75 plus and helped colts get into the last game of the year again, you got a bite from me but a pretty ordinary comment,i gurantee you this that we will both be there again and the colts will have another shot at a grand final when we finish top 3 again.

Who's going from what clubs and what recruits are on the agenda at each club,
colts have lost webb and taylor both to retirements evryone else looks as though they will stay and we are hopefull that we can get josh o'neill back to the club but will not be chasing to many others we will rely on some youngster coming through and the injured players that missed out in this years final series, bracken, caddy, chisnal, wittmar, mcbroom will all have a good impact next year.................looking forward to the break but can't wait for it all to start again.GO COLTS

I would'nt worry about this clown to much Clarkey obviously he was at last years granny and did'nt even watch this one we did'nt have a bad player on the ground either did spotty thats why people are calling it one of the best games of local footy ever seen.

The reason it has dropped off is that the Colts lost and they can't handle it.If Colts had won you wouldn't be able to get them off here.Talking themselves up saying how good they are and that Spotty were sh1t.

Last year the colts were hanging it on Frosty for dropping a mark in the dying stages of the game, this year it was DeBruyn's 50 meter penalty that probably cost the colts the premiership. How does he feel at the moment and the rest of the players for his reckless actions?

Who were the people that big Saul Caddy had a go at that caused the colts to get kicked out of the Clare on MAD Monday?

Are the colts going to terorrise the people of the Gold Coast this year and get kicked out again from hotels and pubs/clubs.

Seems to be a pattern forming by the colts when they drink together, too many fights amongst themselves,I thought they all stuck together why all the problems?

I agree that bagging Frosty for the dropped mark last year was pretty average. Neither him or Dutchy were to blame for either side losing the big one. To isolate 1 incident is quite silly but its the easy thing to do. Unfortunately both incidents will be remembered but neither should be blamed for the loss. Both Hoppers last year and Port this year had plenty of opportunities to win it, but they didnt take them. Im tipping that this is just somebody throwing a bit of sh#t back after the comments last year.

A close freind of mine who goes and watches a different game in a different comp each week and he rated it in that bracket. From down at fullforward it was one of the quikest and clean games i've been involved in.

Personaly can never handle losing especially games we should have won.
In saying that if we had of won certainly would never have said spotty are shit and same with hoppers last year they were a great side.
Dutchy did not cost us the game,we also had many missed shots at goal and players like myself having no impact, many reason why we lost and many reason why spotty won.
Colts never got kicked out the clare nor did any players punch on and fyi we are not going to gold coast, and can't remember when players did have a punch on against each other in last 5 years but in saying that when a lot of alcohol is involved and plenty of testoterone in a room there is always a good chance of some scuffles but being a man we all can get over it not like females they will hold agrudge for eternity.

In closing we are dissapointed we lossed but again we can hold our heads high and we will be having a crack again next year...........GO COLTS.

Foxxy, your are true champ always potting from afar, if its not Bones and West its the Colts. You obviously walk tall after stating your veiw.

If you read back, those from the Colts congratulated Spotswood for winning, no excuses no blame and no sour grapes. Disapiontment sure but as one we move on. Dutchy's fifty costing us the game...I doubt it, if he didn't make contact the mark was always going to be taken and the goal would have been kicked none the less.

Brush up on your facts regarding the rest of your garbage, as for you and your footy trip, perhaps a weekend in rehab is right up your alley:thumbsu:

Re: Western Region Football League team

So season 2007 ends with a bang and 2008 approaches with clark pumping up the colts early. Fair enough.
Congrats to Russ DOuglas on a great season and lee braun in div 2 on the medals. One must feel for Saul caddy though, missed a lot of footy both years and still finished up there onboth occasions.
Moving on to 2008 and will we see a lot of changes at clubs, time will tell. Here is a list of clubs and needs for season 2008. Feel free to add or delete if not agree, this site beeen a little empty for a few weeks.
West Foots - need quality players as well as a coach. Must look for key position players first and then fill on ballers at the latter stages. Lacas McGhie is a quality [players and will need support.
Yarra - Key position players are a must at yarra. A ruckman CHF CHB are needed. Must also maintain current players and try and build from there. Not sure about the coaching if keogh is still there, time will tell.
Glenorden - need a coach and rumor has it Glen McGaw is a strong candidate and will take some hoppers 2's players like brent walker with him to top up the playing list at glenorgen. Need key position players also.
Altona - a coach is still required as there is not much news coming from ALtona. Have a very good young list but need a few older heads in the side to strengthen theri depth and add a bit of grunt around the stoppages. Always improving.
St Albans - need an attitude change at ST ALbans. have a very good list on paper but need to change it a little . Already talk has it a lot of douta stars players are coming across so the quality will pick up. Expect a lot of changes in the off season with not so much younger but more experienced quality players cmoing to St Albans, they got the cash and Kolynick wants to spend it.
Sunshine - Like St Albans have a very good list but need a key forward and a ruckman. Adro has left so there is a vacancy for someone there. Sunshine have struggled in finals and the season in big games because of their lack of a powere forward. Must get. (Would be great to get stenhouse back)
Albion - had a very good season and their number 1 goal for next year is to keep their list together and try to pich up a CHF. If they do this then look out 2008.
Hoppers - another conssitent season by hoppers and will always be there in 2008 but to go the extra step (which I think they will not do again) is they need some grunt and bulk. They are young and skillful but can easily get intimidated like they did in the finals against colts and albion. Need some experienced players to add muscle. (hypothetical, if ray jensen was at hoppers they would be grand finalists, not because big ray is any good but because of his presence)
Port - another very good year but fell down at the last hurdle. Will be there again in 2008 but to add to a strong list need a key CHF this assuming caddy plays FF and a ruckman to relieve pressure off julier. Sam Hoath would be a good fit to rest up forward and change with julier. Would cause a lot of trouble for other teams.
Spotty - Premiers but the pressure is on them and theordore. Need to keep their entire list and more importantly keep theri sponsors. If sponsors go, so will a few players. To top up my opinion is they would benefit from a key CHF or FF, depending on where you play crackers they require the other. Molan did not have a great year and looked out of sorts in the GF and the money he is rumored to be on could be better quality for their buck...

These are a few of the needs and wants of clubs for next season.
One more note of contention there are currently 4 clubs, west and glenorden looking for coaches and yarra and altona in the middle of resigning theiur coaches or looking elsewhere. Peoples thoughts on coaching and should clubs stick with their coahces or look for playing coaches of non playing.... is an interesting one...

You have said this a few times now about a coach, where do you get your info from ? Altona have known who will be coach next year for sometime now.

It will be interesting times at Spotswood over the summer months I would think? When you recruit big you tend to also loose big when things go astray. With Collingwood pulling out of Willy, one would think that this would have some sort of impact at Spotswood.

Willy will now have to recuit similiar to that of Port Melbourne. They obviuosly have cash, so could we see the likes of Molan,Puhar, Keenan and some of the younger blokes be offered contracts down the road?

If so what impact do you think it would have? and are there plans in place to combat this?

Molan & Puhar have both been at VFL level so I would assume wouldnt go back & the Bulldogs are apparently picking up where Collingwood left off.

It may be Werribbee that will be looking for local talent.

Crackers also done a pre season at Werribee & decided on Spotty

Listening to SEN a day or two ago and Rocket gave the indication Footscray are to go it alone next season. He went on to thank all at Werribee for their co-operation etc but stated that in order to get a better "feel" across the club full time staff, coaches etc were the way to go?

This aside, whether it be willy or werribee, recruiting will have to take place, perhaps the same people would be considered at either club?

Spotswood will retain there list. The Collingwood williamstown break will not affect spotty and if anything could strengthen the team with old sons returning home. Look out for the woodsman 2008 they are looking at building upon this years success!

The Bulldogs would like to go it alone, however the AFL have hinted that if they want to go it alone they will loose their CBF money ($1.5 million p.a) and the club just can't afford to loose that cash and will allign with Williamstown. Also Werribee have approached the Kangaroos so I doubt any of the top WRFL clubs will loose their best players to VFL, other than the usual 3-4 young guns who get a trail at VFL level each year.

Agree with you there........ hopefully when looking for one they pick up a club orientated person rather than the recent forward pick ups i.e grenfell, james etc was a much different feeling down there this year amongst the group and would hope all if not alot of the group stay together which will be the key and there is no better example than port, hoppers, sunshine who keep the core group together

Thanks for the feedback, do you know why the bullies would abandon Werribee for Willy?

Things have been rocky between the 2 most of the year. Bulldog listed players were playing in W/bee 2nds because they were not good enough which was shown by their delistings. Gotch has got 2 year deal to coach Willy again so can't see anything changing unless Bulldogs can improve their list to a Collingwood standard. Collingwood going alone would be looking to emulate Geelong's effort this year who played within the VFL rules despite all the "bleating" from Phil Cleary on the telecast.
