Re: Western Region Football League team

do glenorden seem to be establishing themselves well after just there first year in division one?

Re: Western Region Football League team

Have heard he is heading to Glen Orden as assistant to their new coach, Glen Mcgaw.

We are in more strife at Hogans than ever before, like the above post states Fraser has been given the boot and is off to Glenorden with Mcgaw, Walker and a couple of others. Frosty has also been linked to Yarrawonga.

Williams,Crowder, Litchfeild and a few of the younger boys are also looking elsewhere. Sunshine and Albion are keen on the above trio.

On a positive note Adam Taylor looks set to take on the reserves job, looks as though Reynolds may get the senior gig if Frosty moves on?

Hoppers will always bounce back as they are intent on spending money on anyone other than their home grown players !! Fraser is a journeyman who goes with the flow. McGaw will be good for Glenorden and will take a few of the neglected home growns. Mutton must get a medal for staying around. One of the few along with Dickson and Walsh who have stuck around and supported the club whilst hundreds of thousands has been spent on mercanarys around them. Many would say that the supposed mass exodus is Hoppers copping their right whack !! We willwait and see.

Apparently Theodore has been reappointed at Spotty ( not unexpected ) and like Mark Thompson at Geelong he has called a halt to celebrations so that preparation for 2008 can commence. Most have already been re signed whilst rumours abound about a couple of strong signings to improve the 2007 Premiers.

O'Neil back at Colts to try for the 4th flag in a row to recommence the 3 Club cycle !!

Let the silly season commence.

As we say the silly season has begun. Not sure about frosty, didnt he sign on for two more years at Hoppers in June. Correct me if an wrong.
McGaw is a big coo for glenorden and he will take some very good players with him and look for glenorden, not to be a powerhouse next year but to be very competitive.
Was on the EDFL website and speculator says Wayne Patak has signed at Strathmore for 2008..... $600 per game....
No more news about player movemnts from clubs as still is very early but Steve Zavalas at Colts was an interesting thread earlier this week.

What about Juegan. Clubs looking for coaches, there is a playing coach right there who will bring players.. Yarra and West foots should be on the phone to them.
ANy other news boys from clubs jot it down...

Craig Ednie has been signed on as coach of Yarrawonga for the next 2 years so Frosty won't be coaching them.

someone from hoppers please enlighten us! why would fraser have been given the boot after coaching a premiership team? Be interested to get these blokes on BF and give their opinion on a club they've been with since how long? what went wrong? I thought Fraser was Hoppers thru & thru!

Wouldn't have been given the boot and hasn't been at Hopper's that long anyway, was at Glen Orden before going to Hopper's ..

Re: Western Region Football League team

St Albans have picked up some quality players for next season. I have heard that there are many players making the move back to kings park, some ex afl players and some past premiership players from 2001. Some are still in negotition and others may have committed.

Look for some old faces back and the Red and Blue next season and watch them bounce back to become the force that they have always threatend to be.

St Albans are a team that really have not played to the clubs potential other then the years of 2000, 01, 02 with only winning 1 premiership.

Port Colts have shown the league on how to become a dominate force and they have a tin shed as club rooms.

St Albans need to look at the Port Colts, Greenvale's and Vermont and really become something as it is now or never as they are not going to have a better opportunity then now with a Local Boy coaching there 1's.

I've know that West Footscray have been making plenty of calls particularly within the EDFL with Keilor players being targeting with big $$$ offers....

Are they looking to be competive in A grade for 2008... Who is coaching them and who is looking after their footy operations ???

Lets hope for their sake that they don't repeat 2002(I think), when they recruited heavily from the EDFL, for no success. It seemed to go pear shaped from then on.

It is suggested that the "local dill" could have coached that side to a flag.
They had good mixture of youth and experience, and even a young bloke who had been playing for Willi reserves.

Just checked wrfl website and applications for hoppers reserves dont close until 31 October 2007 so Fraser hasn't obvisously applied for a reason. Would be good to get to the bottom of it

I continue to hear rumblings down Hogans road way

He got the lemon and sarse. There was a bit of controversy regarding players chosen for the grand final side. This was always going to happen though given how many players they have there and how many dropped back after the seniors got rolled. There were always going to be a few disappointed players and varying opinions on selection. Not sure if this is the reason he isnt there any more though.

Congrats to tails hope he goes well.

Re: Western Region Football League team

Congrats to tails hope he goes well.

Is he going around another year in the 1's or just coaching the 2's?

Have all the teams been on footy trips as yet? If so where did everyone go?

Hope there were no bad stories like the guys from Coburg area where one of the guys fell to his death. It's a terrible thing to have happen anytime let alone when your on a footy trip with some of your closest mates. My condolences go out to his family and friends.

Re: Western Region Football League team

We had our footy trip over the weekend, up to Coogee Bay in Sydney... quality place for a footy trip, with a couple of awesome pubs there and only a short trip in to the city. Coogee Bay Pub is pretty much impossible to get kicked out of as well, so a definite bonus for those on footy trip. Also know Albion were up in Cairns with the Colts guys as well. Any other teams? Yarraville head to Tassie this weekend i think.

We went to Brisvegas, a few were unsure on the destination but the trip was one of the best. Top place to go all the clubs and pubs close to each other and good weather only let down is the 3pm lockout rule. The boys had a ball

The Altona boys went to Albury.

Coogee Bay Pub sounds good Cabs. I have been up there but not on a footy trip.

You usually get a lot of Rugby tuggers up there though.
