hey raza i hope you have seen him play in the last few years where his discipline has picked up and yeah he might still throw a few but he knows when to switch on and off and as for not playing under pressure you have to be kidding yourself everyone in the dvfl knew what he was like and tried thier best to take his focus off the ball but didnt work as for micheal frost i know kane well anytime he hears of a good player he has risen to the challenge so it would be a good match up and kanes knows i come on here but he dont like it as i think i have let everyone know my opinion about him its now up to him to let his footy take over and do all the talking for me

toc, I have seen him play in the past couple of years and his discipline wasn't the best and he really strugled to come to grips with the pressure you speak of. I'm sure opposition teams will work this out very quickly and it will be interesting to see how many games he does play throughout the year.

Re: Western Region Football League team

well mate we must watch 2 different players cause since playing seniors he has never been sent off and has finished high in the bnf last year and the year before he was killing it at rnd 10 when he broke his ankle and anybody that watched northcote park in 2003 knows he should of 1 that bnf aswell on presentation day everybloke in the room put money on him but he finished 3rd so to say he struggles with pressure and loses focus is pure stupidity have you everplayed vfl or a div 1 granny where kane has played some very good games under constant pressure

Re: Western Region Football League team

the only time i know kane got reported was in an u17s game where he went into the oppisistion change rooms with an iron bar and let a few have it was meant to b suspended for 3 years but appealed and took a lawyer to the tribunral heck e d the whole tribunral system and got off with 3 weeks for bring the game into disrapute so we definately watch the wrong player

Bingo Raza, Sunshine it is.

Our round one team will be interesting. I think it will be a tough night on the selection table this Thursday with plenty of blokes putting their hands up for selection. Some good players are going to miss out on playing at 2:00 pm.

Not sure if your assumption about spotty being a bottom half of the ladder team. From my knowledge, spotty are a proud club that just live and breath a winning culture. Will be a good test for us first up, but the boys are jumping out of their skin with anticipation for the match.

will you be one of the blokes putting your hand up?. I will have a stab at this rounds selections
Sunshine vSpotty (picked up a couple and look like a quick side)
Albion v Altona (Altona will strugle for couple of years)
Portv Parkside (got Condos back and a couple more, Port lost to many quality players but did pick up a couple, Cooper from D.V.F.L close one hard to pick)
St Albans v Hoppers (St Albans lost alot, Hoppers picked up Leach from country, Phipps from D.V.F.L and get back Clonan)
Yarraville v Seddon (Seddon just not up to it)

If the selection committee think i am up to playing at 2:00 pm i will get a gig.

Parkside will be interesting, condos will be good and someone on this thread mentioned that cook is back.

herd colts were undisaplen again on the weekend with a player been sent off for the hole game I thourt the two sooks went to strathmoney.hate to say it but if the colts don't get rid of there undisaplen players well look at last year gf neary cost them the ultimate with a player geting sent off.and it does'nt matter how good you are you can't win with 17 verses 18.we all know that the colts are one of the best team in the wrfl but close to the worst disaplen teams.

anyone agrees?

Your talking Kak bronco27. The Colts won the Grand Final with 17 players.

hey mad hoppers fan if you want to find out how good my mate kane cooper is why dont you ask your coach can you play on him and be given your best ever lesson on how to play the game properly kane has played very well in the vfl dominated the diamond valley and from all reports so far this year he is set to tear the wrfl apart i will go as far as saying that he will be better for the colts than any player they lost and he even probably covers for to of them leaving so i will be real intrested in seeing how you mad coppers go
Love your work son even if its got no stops and commas

The young guys coming up are putting alot of (good) pressure on the older list, but remember this park footy it does get to quick year by year so the older blokes dont find the game passing them by in a season its a bit longer process than that, also experince will asways be a winning factor when it comes to the business end of the season
well put wrfl fan.are you one of them older guys or one of them younger sping chickens that play for colts.

You chocolate moose you didn't mention anything about the qtrs or mins. You just said you can't play with 17 players. Read your own posts before you put your KAK up. :D

Re: Western Region Football League team

bronco27, If O'neil does play 2's at Strathmore, which is looking likely, will he be welcome back at the Colts if he wants to go back?. On your question rightfoot_sloth, it is a very strong rumour that Parkside wont be able to field a 18's side, have to wait and see.

Obviously some word from the inside there on Mainsbridge who has much more knowledge on the topic than me.

Is this the year that will see Port Colts drop a couple of rungs on the ladder, they seem to have lost a couple of stars??[/quote

although the loss of oneil and lindsay and also dont forget sam hoath.
the colts have recruited a realy good big man who is very hard at the ball
i beleive they have picked up a couple of smaller running players too.
Im sure they will be still a force this year

Re: Western Region Football League team

im very worried that parkside maynot be able to feild two sides this week seeing that there playing the colts at home.In years gone past it has been a very nervous parkside who have made the journey to murphys reserve.especially with the colts unfurling the 05 flag, there will be a huge crowd of vocal and passionate colts die hards,i think the colts will win easily but hey!! what would i know

can't realy answer that one raza up to commity & coaching staff.but I will say one think he is a very good football player when his mind is on the job.

Re: Western Region Football League team

What are everyones thoughts on how Hoppers will go this year?. i've read on previous threads that they have lost a few players in beazely and kitoski and a couple of two's players, but have picked up a few from other leagues, in Venner, Phipps and Leach all aparently have played V.F.L football. Will these players cover there losses?, will they continue to be up the top of ladder?.

RAZA,i can tell u now that if o'neill doesn't stick it out at strathmore he would definately not go back to the colts even though he would be welcome, his reasons for leaving and issues are all pretty minor and nothing grown men could't get over, but i think he would hang up the boots, has been close to doing that over last few years .In saying all that if he sticks it out i guarntee he will play seniors, unless the coach plays favourites with his premiership stars from last year which is also understandable

TOC, I think it's time you let Kane Cooper show what his got, he can play the game when he's head's rite, he'd want to be good after you've pumped his tires up so much. I can assure you he wouldn't even hold a candle to Michael Frost. If Kane got half the pressure and half the amount of crap put on him, as Michael Frost does he couldn't handle it and would fly off the handle and inturn he wouldn't get a kick. What are your thoughts?.
have to agree with the others on this one toc frost would have to be one of the best local footy players going around his record speaks for it self.even thow he is geting old in the tooth.still got plenty of tricks up his sleve.not taking anything away from kane cooper only seen him play one game and there looks to be a ton of talent there:thumbsu:

Re: Western Region Football League team

boys im not saying frost isnt a very good footballer i have only ever seen him play in the vfl and that was a few years back but im not doubting that he wouldnt still dominate games all im saying is over the years kane has played on many very good footballers in many different posisitions from chb to fb to being isolated in forward 50 to on the ball where the better the player the higher he has elevated his game to another level he thrives on challenges and it would b intresting if the pair happened to play on each other would be a great battle to watch
