lets get back to footy the wrfl is gone

my tips for this week

ALBION v spotty in what should be a good game im just leaning towards the cats because of the home ground advantage spotty have been up a while and loss might do more good than harm the cats by 3pts

glenorden v HOPPERS hoppers should build on there % hoppers by 77 pts

heights v SUNSHINE YC the yellow bellies should win but i hope sunny heights punch suit cases out of them YC by 34 pts

st albans v COLTS the goat hearders are struggling big time the colts should cruise the colts by 52 pts

west footscray v ALTONA this could be a real danger game for altona its a game everyone expects them to win but footy's a funny game if they dont come to play it could be the one that got away altona by 20 pts

We wont be playing tomorrow against Glenorden. Glenorden are forfeiting their game tomorrow due to an young u18 player tragically dying this morning after an injury he sustained 3 weeks ago whilst playing footy. Obviously, their club is devastated by the loss and will not be playing.

We all send our deepest sympathy to Glenorden and his family.

We will recieve the 4 match points and a percentage equal to the highest of all games played tommorrow - which are all going ahead with WRFL umpires.

Absolutely tragic!:(

AGREE with all your tips gangster, although i'm very surprised you have picked the colts, after you predicted we would slide down the ladder and be lucky to make the finals.....

Well what a complete debacle tghis umpire situation has been, thankfully we have games this week.
I think it was great how all clubs got behind the umps on this issue and we will all continue to support them to get what they want.

I believe if the umps are not happy with Gunn and also clubs are not happy with him why do the wrfl and afl continue to support him???
He must have some photo's of adrian anderson and demitrou in a compromising position...lol

and a well done to terry cooper (Albion Pres) who brokered the deal with the umpires to get this weeks games going

Very well done to Glen Orden on taking that action as a mark of respect to the family, tragic news and it would be nice to see other wrfl clubs band together and raise some money for the family in this tough time for them.

HERE HERE
This Tuesday night the WRFL have called for a committee of management meeting and cancelled the junior forum that was to be on Monday night.
Had the WRFL not called this meeting there was always going to be a meeting of club presidents to thrash out this situation.
It is the clubs that run the league, it is only Batty and Co. put in to perform the duties on behalf of the clubs.
I wonder if the clubs will have any balls and get rid of any people that are causing problems, and how red will Battys face get at this meeting when he starts ranting and raving?

Yes thanks for brokering the deal with the umpires Terry, should say that the umpires decided to go back at the request of the clubs and not the league the problem with the league, and Terry Gunn continues but the umpires never wanted to hurt the clubs but were/are fed up with the way they are being handled by the league who have a desire to get rid of the umpires association, but messing around with the umpires pays is not on and this part is still not sorted, the league thinks that the umpires work for them but that is not entirely true the league get the money to pay for the umpires from the clubs and all the umps want is a fair go

Great to see the Umpires put their grievances to one side to allow games today, however.........

To what has been posted seems that the answer/resolution is for the following to happen ( assuming there is not another issue we are unaware of)

  • The pay details be resolved asap with the WRFL providing details that the Umpires Association can verify in reagrds to appointments and outstanding monies to Umpires
  • That the WRFL stand Terry Gunn down ,as he has lost the confidence of the Umpires association, and review the appointment
  • As a gesture towards the WRFL the Umpires association drop their disapproval toward Umpire Uniform colours ( Green for Umpires being mentored and Orange for all othe rumpires) , as is practice or is proposed across all Metro leagues
Finally after this is resolved all the Clubs get together and decide whether they want the Umpires Association as a member of the WRFL (current) or whether they want the Umpires association as an employee of the WRFL.

8 months is a long time for this dispute to have festered and the question is should FV get involved to the same degree that they did in the Northern League ? ie take over the Administration and start over ?

Great win by the cats on saturday. No team has got near spotty really so that will surely give the cats alot of confidence, probably stiff not to have knocked over the kangas last week.
Will be a massive game next week, at murphy's all the colts boys are looking fwd to it. Along with spotty we feel the cats are the team to beat.
We had 6 out against the saints but should get 2 back, How are the cats travelling??? Hopefully Buttina, savalas & munro will be back.

Can someone that was at the spotty/albion game give us a match report.

Good Win by the Cats

But as for the celebrations, Round 7 it was like they had made it through to the big one.

Albion deserved the win no doubt, Spotswood were ordinary skills were dismull at best. Forwards Struggled all Day to kcik a score, Albion plays their ground well and have a number of good small players,

Both Sides had a number of outs, Next time around we will get a good indication as to where Albion are at.

But they look a contender at this stage.

The top 5 will go either way,

it was a close match all day both teams were in it. spotty have got at least 5 key players out which made it hard for them all day, not taking anything away from albion there pressure all day was great, when the ball went down to the spotty forward line it was coming back out just a quick, they were really missing a key forward.
fillpot was shut down by jensen who played a really good captains game.
there other forwad c.thomas did nothing all day, but albions danger man was bloomfield, he played quite well as a small forward roll.

Hey people, this is Sarah Manton here....and if you have an issue with me, call me. The derogatory bulls*it that has just been written in unacceptable. I will not tolerate such slander. You have no idea about me or my life so if you have a problem it's rather easy to track me down and talk to me in person as opposed to this crap. My email address is sarah_manton4@hotmail.com, so if you have a problem with me I would suggest you call me directly and stop with the personal attacks in a public forum, or are you too much of a coward to do so? Continue with this s*it and I will look into taking legal action

Sour grapes hey. Looks like she may have stolen some of your limelight in the past. Think you may need to grow up and move on mate... this is a football website not a gossip website...

be interesting to see who the scape-goats will be after spottys first loss, bet it wont be any of the players in the clique who probably had the same stats as the young fellas on saturday who will get the flick.

This is a footy forum page people, talk about the footy. We have this great game that involves people of all sectors of the comunity, and to me it is the greatest equaliser there is. We all love it, we all support it, we are all equals in our passion for this great game. Please use this forum for what it is for and that's to appreciate and comment on this game. It's not a gossip page....From now on in I would sincerley ask that comments are are directed about the footy...it's a great forum to have a healthy debate about that...the other stuff really is just superfical crap

Not a bad round of footy it seemed in the wrfl, Sunny Heights must of given the kangas one hell of a fright. Travy or Quinny any match report did you have many out or did they just play well. We played them the week before and there is no doubt they have a crack

Colts had a good win at St Albans, thought we were in a position to have a really big win and didn't capitalise and then in the last we had to fight it out to get the points, but our record at kings park isn't great so if we were offered a 4 goal win at the start we probably would've taken that.

Also great win for the cats sets up a big clash with us this week, but i don't think spotty would be too concerned about dropping one game in the first half of the year, still a shit load of footy to be played eveyone has do drop a game you would think with the competition evening out a little bit
