I hear Wayde Twomey, the brother of Blake from the Colts will be moving back to Victoria from Perth next year. He will be making the move back to the WRFL and apparently is keen on a move back to his junior club Hoppers Crossing if a move can be made. He has a lot of friends at the club who he played footy with and went to school with, would seem like a natural place for him to play at next year

The problem with Gunn is now in its fourth year and he is the most disliked and disruptive person I have seen in any area of football
He claims he is above the WRFL " I have powerful friends in AFL". he implies even if WRFL wanted to sack him. they cant.

Neville Nash who chaired the committee that appointed him is an AFL Victoria employee. I believe that Neville Nash 's son was appointed Umpires Director of Eastern by a committee chaired by his father, this year.
Diana Taylor WRFL president is climbing the ladder at AFL committee level and it must be asked if she has a conflict of interest between her AFL ambitions and her president of WRFL.

The fact that Peter Schwab has gone on record that Gunn is very important to AFL makes me wonder if the destruction of the Umpires association is high on the AFL agenda
I will never forget a WRFL umpires meeting when collecting my nphew, Gunn standing up and telling the group "SSSH loose lips sink ships"

If AFL are orchestrating this shambles, it can only be for their long term gain. Otherwise why bother.

For the last 10- 12 years it has been known that the AFL wants to take over all football leagues in the state, hive off the elite under 16 and under 18 and let the rest fade away
That is why the WRFL board is stacked with lawyers and not football people. most have been appointed rather than elected

If this continues in 5 years the first and second division will be a thing of the past

Last time blake spoke with wade, he mentioned to me that wade would either stay in perth or head to the gold coast.
If he did decide to come back to melbourne, the last time he played wrfl senior footy was with port colts, so hopefully he would again. We would be doing what we could to get him back in red and blue.

Hey people, this is Sarah Manton here....and if you have an issue with me, call me. The derogatory bulls*it that has just been written in unacceptable. I will not tolerate such slander. You have no idea about me or my life so if you have a problem it's rather easy to track me down and talk to me in person as opposed to this crap. My email address is sarah_manton4@hotmail.com, so if you have a problem with me I would suggest you call me directly and stop with the personal attacks in a public forum, or are you too much of a coward to do so? Continue with this s*it and I will look into taking legal action
What's the Number?

Cats always too strong at home, big test will be this weekend at the Colts..........hopefully be a tight contest as we got FLOGGED there last year!
Bleed some young talent on Saturday against Spotty, probably go into this saturdays game with the same line up.
Fortunatly still a few players to come back into the seniors!

Surely Buttina will come back in after being a very late withdrawl on saturday.....any mystery reason why he did pull out so late inka???

Watched the Albion/Spotty game on the weekend and agree with earlier post about the game being a bit scrappy but how refreshing to see a bit of old fashioned football. It was a very physical contest, lots of big hits and hard tackling from both sides.

Albion were very impressive and played with a lot of heart eventually breaking clear late but both sides can take a lot away from the game.

Philpot had the better of Jensen in the ruck and took a couple of great contested marks when forward also but this was a good duel to watch.

Bloomfield is a very gutsy player, had everything thrown at him and gave it back just as hard...looks a real, tough kid.

O'Keefe for Spotty looked dangerous but the Albion backline gave nothing away keeping the reigning premiers to only 7 goals.

Interesting that when ever a side gets beaten the 'players missing' line gets rolled out but after speaking to the pres after the game at Albion he tells me that Middleton, Barker, big Ali Assad & a rejuvenated Dixon will all be ready to put their hands up in the next couple of weeks for the Cats so they had their fair share out.

Also mentioned that Butina & Savalas didn't play and recruits Munro, Caruso & Serong are all on the short term injured list so I guess they will only get better.

Spotty missed McGhie & Molan no doubt but I'm sure it's rare to ever have a full list to choose from.

Might wander down to watch the Colts game this week, think it will be very entertaining.

The cats have a point to prove after last year at Colts!
Hopefully the midfield can stand up this year, both Jacobs brothers were untouchable last year...........

Also watched this game and really enjoyed the hardness at the ball from both sides. Felt big Ray may have given the younger Cats boys a lift in confidence when he tried to put the Albion coach into the fence early in the first quarter and his reaction towards big Ray showed them not to take any sh*t. Set a standard for the day. Mangan proved what a great defender he is and even if Buttina had played don't think he would have got many kicks. Are Albion a hot and cold side only capable of winning on their little dunghill or have they really improved? Interesting game at colts this week.

Neutral observer or an albion supporter????

Either way, why has barker yet to play??
I spoke with dicko last week told me he is not motivated in playing at all, for the cats sake i hope he changes mind....one of the better defenders in the comp.
Asad would not get a game in the cats senior anyone that say he would is kidding themselves, competes hard but can't read the play nor kick or h/ball with any effect.
Buttina would have been a loss weather he kicked goals or not would have taken a good defender.....As for savalas i heard he has put on plenty again and has not been playing well at all, so may not be such a big loss.

I think most side will miss either 2 or 3 players from their best side most weeks any more than that and u could say injuries have hurt and i suppose the quality of player.
We had 10 out rd 1 and got smashed but most weeks since have had 4 to 6 out but have had our key players in the side which can make a massive difference.

Colts/Albion this week should be a cracker, looking fwd to having a look at bloomfield and philpott, obviously we are at home and love to play their but we just look forward to playing quality sides anywhere.
Hopefully both side have very strong lists, we will be missing a few but probably our best side we have put out all year.

very true rock, wade did play all his juniors at colts too and i am sure he and good old bobby would love to play a bit with blake...pretty sure they havent played senior footy together??? wade is a pretty loyal bloke just like blake (i approached him late last year) he said he will never leave the colts, thought as much but i had to ask the question lol. altho my club would be well behind (redlands QAFL) and colts to grab big wade i will still have a crack and try to pull the old family friends card hahahaha.

hey rock what ever happened to brad boyd??? he was a real good player years ago, is he still playin footy? is his family still at the club???

mate were you watching the game??? Filpot was shut down by Jensen, Filpot took two marks all day and the two he had were for shots on goal and both of the kicks came off the side of his boot, if you did actually watch the game you would of seen this.

My apologies Mike Sheehan, thought this was a forum for posting your insightful thoughts on the game.

Jensen gave away 4 free kicks in ruck contests worrying about Philpot and Philpot consistently gave his on ballers first use of the ball which probably went a long way to deciding the match.

I did say it was a good duel to watch but thought Philpot had the better of him. Happy for you to have an opinion also, maybe we just agree to disagree on this one.

Massive challenge for Philpot this week against arguably the best big man in the comp in Julier.

Is Matty Bettin still playing at the cats or has he gone down hill??????
ANYONE?????
He is a good player just havent seen him in the 1's?

Long time listener, first time caller!.

I watched a game between Hoppers Xing and Albion earlier in the year and can gaurantee Philpot is 1/4 of the player Julier is. There is no arguement in the fact Julier is the most influential player in this comp apart from M.Frost in his day no one has dominated this league as he does.

its obvious hes a albion fan. No one could argue that julier isnt streets ahead of any ruckman in the comp, and hes in my top 3 best players.

anyone care to name a round 7 best wrfl team?

best players to date in according positions?
