Guy's, I have just come from the WRFL COM meeting and I am confident that the solutions that have been worked through with the WRFL and the UA should see all games back on this weekend.

A huge credit to all involved in putting football before personalities. Well done especially to Mick Psalia (St Albans), Greg King (Hoppers), Mark Grech (Sunshine) & Chris Murphy (Spotty) for the work done to date.

thanks guys!:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Couldnt agree more. It also seems we should all be making farewell cards to Batty as it seems he has finally been found out as a muppet by the board as all the clubs already knew. Bring on the footy

Also negotiating with wyndam council to put finals back a week to make up the missed round. The clubs that missed a home really need it.
.
That would be the common sense thing to do. And it would also solve a problem with the availability of Chirnside Park. Similar to last year, Werribee are using the ground on the first weekend of finals as currently scheduled. Nobody wants to see finals played at places like St Albans under lights!!!

Well Done to all the Presidents as mentioned:thumbsu:

I think all clubs should be wary about there behaviour / conduct for the rest of the season, any issues and I would not be surprised to see the executive come down hard on the club after the scrutiny they have come under. Let's hope the season finishes of in the right manner and we have a good finals series.

The situation with the board & Batty will come to a head later no doubt.

Good Luck to all teams for remaining part of season!!!!!!!

May I suggest that we steer away from the Batty bashing? Even remove the posts. Could lead down a sticky path.

I attended last night, and from my perspective it was pretty positive. Just waiting on the all clear from the UA.

IMO, making up games seems more likely for Div 2 then it is Div 1. You never know though.

Both div1 and 2 need to make up the games.
I know it will hurt us if we can't make the game up, if we can't hopefully we are well compensated....LESS FEES

Rock after hearing everything that come out of last nights meeting what do you beleave are the actual chances of the league making up the lost rd at the end of the year

I am trying to work out the numbers in terms of lost income for clubs. I am not really 100% sure how every club has lost out financially by missing the one game. I would have thought that some of the higher paying clubs would have been more likely to have finsished up better off.

For example if a club was spending $90K per season missing one game would mean that they would have saved around $5000. ( I am assuming no players were paid for the week off).

How many clubs make more than $5000 PROFIT for 1 home game?

Whilst I agree that both Div 1 and 2 should make up the lost game, logistically speaking, it is more likely that only Div 2 will get the chance to make up the game.

On the topic of compensation. I'm not sure what will happen there. As I posted before, each club should receive a discount of approximately $690.00 or 5.55% of management fees (specific to match-day costs such as insurance, umpires etc...).

For Port Colts 1 home game pays for player payments for the home game then the following away game, so it has put us behinnd no doubt.
To many implications and what ifs if the game is not replayed other than the financial side.....It must be played

I was not at the meeting, but if the league want to make it up they will finad a solution but if they don't care then we will not.
It's that simple.

If the city of Wyndham does not wish to negotiate when i comes to rescheduling, why not see about a couple of games back at Yarraville, just promise council they are a one off. Also see about a temporary fence at Whitten oval, or head down to Williamstown. Then of course there is St Albans ground.
If you don't ask you will never know, and I am sure Werribee could be flexible in a few of the games.

You would need to give more than this to have people really consider stopping the bashing. Are you suggesting defamation lawsuits? In that case, how do you sue an alias? How do we know that their aren't 5 people to the 1 alias? Not sure what you mean.

agree whole heartedly how can anyone be stoped from having a point of veiw on a situation it would mean being under total marshal law so it would be ok for powers to be to critasize but the little battler will be forced to shut up & wear it l feel that if the shoe fits then you cop it sweet

If any of you have a copy of the minutes from the second most recent COM meeting. I suggest having a read of it and you should be able to find out why I have suggested that people on here should be careful of what they say.

AFC, you made the suggestion yet you still leave us with little more than a 'shut up or else'. Since you brought it up, why don't you give us a brief run down on the consequences of not being careful with what we say. Don't leave us hanging, tell us what the fragile egos at league headquarters have in store for us should we dare criticise the job they're doing.

How true it is in this case that you can think it but not say it or in this case type it dictatiorship rules hey rules for them & club supporters don't have any just don't voice your opinion oold saying a little bit of power with it comes a lot of EGO

whast a dilemma what game do l go watch saturday albion V hoppers looks good
st albans V sunshine mmm albion V hoppers might get more of a crowd & get laugh out of the supporters at albion than at st albans then again port V west might be a bit closer than u would think but port still easely

their was a club 2 years back threatening defamation charges after comments made on a forum, luckily for the person behind the alias he was never found (think he is still in hiding);)

You must be a West supporter rooboy5, we won't get within 30 goals of Port especially after a week off for their players to get over niggling injuries.
So unless people think we'll lose by 40 goals it might be closer than they think....lol....
