Hey all,

Completely off topic, because I am already thinking about Mad Monday after this weekend:
Are there any Angels fans in the forum today?
I have a small pile of tickets to see them play a sold-out show on Friday night. I have these tickets because I am playing in one of the support bands. If we don't sell them by mid day tomorrow they will get taken back and sold to the general public. Rather than have that happen, I'd be happy to offer them to any WRFL folk who might otherwise have missed out. (As I said, general admission is sold out)

If you're interested, gotta be quick. PM me or Email me john.cognito@gmail.com

ROCK you have done your home work haven't you. B.Monty will be back should play this week. Barry will play no doubt just resting the old body, Koutza had nearly 50 touches in the Two's so isn't far away and Lattela will play seniors no matter what, he has proven he can come back and play some good footy with us, he wont be taking a spot that isn't up for grabes, you alway pick the best side and he is in our best side. In saying all this I'm not the coach and all the above could be wrong.

Are you going into this week full strength?. I read the other day Spotty coach has already conceeded finishing 2nd and is preparing this week for week 1 finals against Hoppers, said he will be trying new things in preperation for Hoppers. Don't think he rates Sunshine.

I'm sure if Ben Kelly was in my position he wouldn't dismiss sunshine so easily. It will be a great hit out, something we are grateful of going into finals, playing against fellow finalist.
Sunshine always play well at our ground, foley has left a whole for the kangas to be rated up there with the top 3, in saying that if they play there best and we are not switched on then they could easily knock us off.
How ever coming into finals and spots up for grabs and for the first time all year a full squad to pick from, i expect a very good showing on our behalf.

So how are hoppers preparing??? Who are you expecting to play??
With two losses this year against spotty and colts, have hoppers got a few new ideas to change the results.

Koutza having 50 touches...wow, rush him back now. I'm sure he is another that will love the wide open spaces of werribee!!

Getting 50 against our reserves last week is about = to getting 10 touches against a quality senior side.

You can only compete against the opposition that turns up but you cant reallty take any notice of form when you are playing against the bottom 2 reserves side.

Rock if you had played reserves against us on the weekend you would have had 65 touches and kicked 15..LOL

Like you said it wont be all one way traffic for you guys on Saturday, so I'm sure we will be preparing for this week get a win and finalise top 3. 5pm on Saturday will be when preperations begin for the following week. I do think you guys will knock Sunshine off in a close one, but will not dismiss them like Kelly has.

I wouldn't think he doesn't rate them, simply that logic would suggest that Spotty vs Hoppers is the likely match up in Round 1 of the finals....I'm sure that Chopper has prepared already for all scenarios.

LOL not to sure about that, maybe 15 points the radar has been off this year. Let's not under sell koutza's performance i'm sure it will hold him in good stead when he faces colts/spotty seniors.

so where did you read this?
maybe he rates port a lot more
will spotty playin this week at altona be an advantage for the following week?

Star newspaper quote.

Kelly said the second position finish should see them face off against Hoppers Crossing in two weeks time with their final match of the home and away season at Altona to provide a good test run.

“We finished second, we have probably known it for three or four weeks now, so it probably looks likes Hoppers so we just got to prepare for that. We play Altona at home this week and then play the first final at Altona too so it will give us a good look at the ground and the guys a bit of knowledge.”

Obviously doesn't rate Albion either.

Think you are reading way too much in to it....With one round to go there would be 90% chance that Spotty will play Hoppers Crossing - Port Colts would be at a short price to beat Sunshine, so surely that suggests that will be the likely matchup!? And how on earth would Albion leapfrog Hoppers?

QUOTE FROM KELLY "We finished second, we have probably known it for three or four weeks now"

Didn't colts play Albion last week, He obviously had written off Albions chances of beating Colt's.

Could be reading into it a bit, but just shows a bit of arrogance to write off Sunshine and Albion before the game was played. Either that or he rates Colt's well above anyone else.

How will Port beating you guys help us? To make it to the big 1, and then win it you have to beat everybody and there isnt much between the top 2 anyway so it makes no difference who we play 1st week up.

Any truth to what i was told today bud, and that is that you guys have conceeded to settle for 4th spot. Thus stacking your 2's which would mean a win and your 2's are in. Also with players due back next week to help strengthen your 2's during the finals?

So your saying that weather Port beat you or not, YC will flog the Cats by 54pts the following week?

......has this prediction been printed off and stuck up on the wall for ALL the players to read??

Cats will play second week of finals!

All this talk of what Kelly really meant and reading between the lines is starting to remind me of the stuff that goes on in Footy Classified. Making mountains out of mole hills and drumming up some interest in a finals series that will end in the same two sides playing off in the GF. I said that, Kelly didn't. I can be that 'arrogant' because my opinion, right or wrong, really doesn't count for a lot.

How about this? Kelly acknowledges that Albion is a quality side but won't be good enough to beat an in-form Colts. Things are allowed to be simple as that. As it stands, they were nowhere near good enough. Come on Danny, you're doing a Hutchy/Caro on us.

Very unlikely to do any better than 4th spot. Would take a good win by Sunshine and an upset Hoppers loss, so hardly settling for fourth, just happy to be in the mix. Never stacked the twos in my living memory and looking to beating the pussies by 54 points next week!! Put that on your changeroom wall Inka!!

You must have a very short memory, your ones fell away last season towards the end and your two's became stronger ???,but you did end up beating the undefeated Spotty in the Grand Final ,so i guess it was worth it,i expect to see quite a strong two's side to-day,will be a very hard game for us.

Well hoppers are emerging as a goal kicking machine....15 individual goal kickers today along with 63 shots on goal. Murphy has come back from injury as the most dangerous fwd in the comp, he is surely going to worry the opposition coaches.

Should be a great game this week spotty/hoppers, spotty are the a great running side with alot of belief and with loads of experience. Hoppers are flying with a full list, also with a bit of experience and have some real hard nuts around the stoppages.
Hopefully they belt each other, a result either way would not surprise but it will be a close one.

In the other game albion/sunshine, think the cats may prevail, only on sunshine getting a couple of late injuries to some key players.

Looking forward to watching some good finals footy!!

nice drop of the f...bomb on the radio today knakers........i had to have a giggle......:thumbsu:

Spotty v Hoppers: Spotty to strong all over the ground but should win in a tight one 4goals, but the Big Beeza will have a chance to show the woodsmen why they shouldve have played him last year.

Albion v Sunshine: The cats will win by 6goals with J.Dorward to get BOG for the game.

just logging on from typhoon taiwan, I'm tipping an upset with Hoppers getting up this weekend......good luck for the colts 2's on Sunday against Altona, can someone please tell me if this game is to be played at Altona??

well finals is upon us! colts got up over a stacked sunshine? were they stacked or not? altona smashing spotty? wat happen they're would of been pretty windy down at altona! port showing their class over sunshine! but will it be harder for port playing at the big altona ground? big help for the other sides.
hoppers to beat spotty this week by 2 goals in great form at the minute n wont stop now!
and sunshine to beat albion by bout the same margin!
