No, it will become too hard ;)
I reckon well try to hold back.

Then its just going to explode all over the place after a few months.

Are you speaking from past experience?

I'd like the club to just take their time with the big Cox. Ease him into it. There's no rush....

miggs can vouch, I'm a slow starter, don't have the same top speed as others, but I can keep it up for extended periods.

Anyone else hoping Hanners can get injury free and tear games apart again? There's a lot of great things Swans fans have been able to enjoy over recent years - all the awesome kids coming in, Buddy being a freak, our majestic back-line - but what I missed the most this year was watching Kennedy and Hannebery work in tandem. I didn't really realise how integral their unity is to Swans victories until it was missing for almost all of this year.

Shame we've stuck a fork in Hannebery. He had a great career hope he enjoys retirement!

I'm encouraged that Hannebery after a few months of rest then a good pre-season will be firing again in 2018.

I'm looking forward to our young players stepping up. By the young ones I mean Heeney, Mills, Lloyd, Jones, Papley along with Florent, Melican, Hayward & Hewett. This isn't a criticism of any of these players but the group is getting to the point where these kids should really start to lift. With the older heads still around the club is in crazy strong position

Apart from wanting a premiership, looking forward to the continued development of youth and the debut of Dawson and probably one of our rookie picks this year.

Really want to see Florent given a few consecutive games in the NEAFL for development then consistently get him in seniors.

Mills to be put in the guts more often.

Re-Debut Dawson.....

Want to see Ronke debut. Just get a feeling about him.

Really cant wait to see Dawson getting more games & making us feel a little less shitty about giving away Mitchell. I'm also really excited about watching all the young guys tear it up next year. Heeney, Mills, Jones, Hewitt, Papley, Hayward, Florent, Dawson, Melican the pelican, Its going to be an exciting year. Some teams must be so jealous of how good our young guys are!

From the interview with new assistant coach Steve Johnson on the Swans site:

“Dean Cox and I have come on board from different clubs so certainly there are some ideas we have that are different to what the coaches have worked towards in the past and something they’re prepared to take on board.

“Hopefully we all fit in well together and come up with a solid game plan for 2018.”

A new gameplan for the forwards? that is certainly something to look forward to.

Dawson and Aliir's JLT matches, gee I hope they can break into the 22 on form if warranted. Would mean its a decent 22.

I'd roll the dice on them regardless. Our last game we still had guys like Cunningham, Sinclair, Towers etc in our line-up. You just don't win flags with blokes like that in your team. Maybe the new incomers won't be any better but there needs to be change of some sort otherwise we go into a new year doing the exact same thing and expecting different results. Which is what they define insanity is.

weve been in contention for five years and not won once... not good enough and the buck stops with horse. I look forward to horse getting the flick (and he can take steve Johnson with him). if we don't win in 2018 with a new coach at least we would have tried as what we have been doing for the last 5 years hasn't worked.

Maybe I am just a milquetloast onesie pajama wearing beta male but I am going to give SJ one game to see how he goes coaching before I call for his scrotum on a serving plate.
